Prior to coming to Ireland, I had chosen some restaurants and pubs that I may want to go to so I can save it on an app that I can get directions with out using data. Hooked was one of those restaurants, and I enjoyed it very much. It's a restaurant that is completely farm to table with all ingredients coming specifically from locally sourced farms. The vibe inside is really cute and has a slightly European spin on a hipster vibe. Someone at the hotel called it "bohemian." The food was good. Very good. The service on the other hand, well, my server was distracted obviously because she forgot to bring my wine. I had to ask for it and she said, "Oh yeah" as she sighed. When the food was delivered, I asked for ketchup and the manager had heard and had to ask someone to get it because no one seemed to move to get it. While I was eating, no one asked me how I was doing or if I needed anything else. You'd think that maybe they'd want to see if maybe I'd like another glass of wine or something. I loved the decor and ambiance and the quality of the food was truly good. I asked to sit by the water and there were tables open, but I was told that tables of four are for larger parties in case they got busy. However, I was there for maybe a half hour at the most and paid for my meal before I was even finished. Also, the restaurant cleared out and only a party of 8 came in and that table was reserved. I am giving 4 stars because the food was very good. I had the Buttermilk Southern Irish Chicken Sandwich with Chips (Fries) and a coleslaw with pickled red onion. I appreciated that the chicken wasn't fried and very moist and tender. read more
