Go, Park, Read! Is a Dublin, Ca. Project to build small Little Free Libraries in Dublin. This is located in Emerald Glen Park in front the restrooms which is in front of a swimming site.
Inside this library is a few young adult books written in the national language of India.
"The Lowland" by Jhumpa Lahiri begins in Tollyunge, West Bengal, India where 2 brothers, Subhash & Udayan are beginning graduate studies.
Subhash goes to Providence, R.I. for advance studies. Within 2 years, Subhash returns to India when Udayan dies unexpectedly. Subsequent talks with Guira, Udayan's wife reveals he was killed by authorities for suspected Naxalite (Maoist) activities. No one knows she's pregnant.
Subhash proposes marriage. Guira reluctantedly accepts. Bela is born in the U.S. Guira ignores her, barely speaks to Subhash. Concentrates on getting enough degrees for a professor position.
Guira abandones the family when they go to India to attend a funeral. Sometime later, Subhash reveals to Bela he isn't her "real". Bela storms out, pissed.
The family drama has consequences. No one involved can maintain a long relationship thereafter. Guira & Subhash divorces 2 decades later.
Bela is pregnant from a random fling, has forgiven Subhash. Is living in his home. Will inherit it upon his passing. Guira accepts blame privately. Saw no other alternatives. Bela refuses to see her.
