wow.
this place sure puts pretentious hipster vintage boutiques to shame.
everything about flashback is... eccentric. the woman who owns it is... well, let's see... have you ever seen the movie teen witch? for some reason she reminds me of madame serena. i hear she can be kind of moody, but the day i went in she was in a good mood, helpful, and got pretty excited whenever i tried something.
from the outside, the shop looks like a house. from the inside, the shop still looks like a house, only a house packed full of racks of vintage clothes, shoes, hats, and jewelry. it's hanging from the walls; it's in drawers; it's everywhere. and so are the cats. i've never seen a place so amazingly cluttered with smelly old awesome clothes.
prices are pretty standard for a vintage clothing store, but the selection is really amazing. (in my experience, finding vintage clothes in smaller sizes is always a struggle, it usually has to be taken in for us smaller folks, but flashback had a pretty good range of sizes, if i remember right.)
one perk: every month she puts on a different special depending on... well, i've no idea really. sometimes it's a 50% sale on everything pastel, everything green, everything plaid, etc. etc. the dollar bin out front holds some treasures, so be sure to look through it.
if i lived anywhere remotely near here, i would come every month for the special. but alas, 14 hours is way too long a drive... sigh. read more
