Devan, owner of Elevated Contracting Solutions, was hired to put Trex decking on an existing wooden deck. He repaired the deck foundation satisfactorily but his work on installing the Trex decking and KD railing system was not acceptable. We requested picture frame trim around the Trex decking edges to give it a finished look. This trim is on both sides of the deck but not on the full length of the front. The 45-degree angle cuts on the installed picture frame corners are sloppy and did not match the examples of his work on the Trex website. The website for Elevated Contracting Solutions has since been removed. We requested Trex facia on the outside foundation support rails and he installed Trex decking boards. The facia change was made on the contract but he failed to tell us of the change and, unfortunately, we did not notice this change in the contract.
We selected the KD railing system because he told us the Trex railing had a long backlog and would delay the project several weeks. However, all of the bottom rails and some top rails between the support posts were cut too short and left gaps from 1/4 to 1/2 inch. These gaps were then filled with black caulking.
My wife called his business number to complain about his work and after almost thirty minutes on the phone, they gave her a different phone number to register a complaint. However, that number connected her to the Medical Alert System. When she complained to Devin, he told her his phone system must have been hacked.
We paid over $16,000 for the work on our 16 X 18 deck and asked Devan several times for a detailed breakdown of the materials and labor cost involved. The last time he told me to send him a text message to remind him but he has yet to supply this paperwork.
On July 25th, 2023 I told Devan I was not happy with everything that took place and I would be giving reviews on my opinion of his work.
On August 2nd, 2023 I received the following text from him:
"I been behind. I submitted all the warranty's [sic]. I would watch what you do as it is slander and defamation. Not to mention you were trying to force alcohol and medical marijuana on my employee when I wasn't on site and he will voice for that. If you want to play games let's play"
This just goes to show the extent Devan is willing to go in order to threaten his customers that are not happy with his work and are willing to give reviews to reflect their opinion. read more
