My now-husband and I hired Cloud Gate String Quartet for our wedding (earlier this month). What drew us to CGSQ was that they also play current pop songs and a variety of other old songs as well, not just classical pieces. So we were really excited to hear some of our favorite tunes on the strings! We wanted our guests to hear them playing familiar tunes and go "Wait, I know this song! What is it!" Ross was our main point of contact in terms of getting quotes, payments, etc. He was very responsive to our emails. He also followed up after the wedding. The day of the event, the quartet showed up (dressed in all black) and were very professional. I seriously cannot express how much joy they brought to us, and our guests. I really wish I could of heard more of what they played but alas, the big day put us 'behind the scenes' much. They started with our pre-wedding cocktail hour, played during the ceremony - of which we chose "What A Wonderful World" and "La Vie En Rose" as our processional. We also picked "American Authors - Best Day of My Life" as our recessional. They played again during the second cocktail hour, and throughout dinner. I mean, it's a long time - they played for 4 hours (as requested) and took breaks as needed. But we appreciated every minute of it and it was all worth it.
