This review is really about the bar that is by the delicatessen and sushi bar area to the left when one enters. The bar seats about 15 with a low area for 2-3 folks and a few side tables. The bar has a wine and beer menu (sake too) and a food menu. I do not believe one can pickup food at the deli etc and bring it to the counter as there are tables outside and upstairs for that. We went on St. Patrick's Day (needed something low key, not packed and with big TV screens (they have 2). We ordered a few Guinness beers ($5) and the Truffle Macaroni and Cheese with brisket and the Grilled Chicken Sandwich with an order of fries. Well, the Mac & Cheese is listed as an appetizer so it is a small portion even if it caloric as all get out. It was good but not great and the brisket a bit too sweet for me. The chicken sandwich was delish though; moist and flavorful with great bread. The fries were a combo of potatoes that one might expect at breakfast but were crisp. I enjoyed them, my dining companion not so much. So while the food was mixed the service is really good. About 6 folks at the counter and a table of ladies nearby. The wait staff person was well organized, giving us our plates and silverware before the food arrived; I find this a major failing of young and inexperienced wait staff. Don't give me my silverware AFTER my food arrives and it's getting cold. Also place salt, pepper and any other condiments beforehand which the Gelson's person did.
