This place is a-awesome. It's got a pub-like feel and boasts that it has been melbourne's first microbrewery. It has it's own ciders, beers (even a gluten-free beer called o'brien's), ginger ale and other drinks.
Like it's name, it has a range of parma toppings which come with your choice of meat or veggie (veal, chicken or eggplant) and a side of chips and salad to share.
My dinner mate had the o'brien's beer which basically glides down your throat. I had their home-brewed rasberry mead which is fresh rasberries, honey, water and alcohol. Slightly sweet, very light and 4.5% alcohol - au naturel!
As I like spicy food, I was recommended to get the Parmageddon. Both my dinner mate and I got it. It has four different kinds of chilli sauce and is delicious. My dinner mate got the chicken version and I got the eggplant. Mine was succulent pieces of eggplant (four large pices) with laeyers of cheese, a good dose of chilli (not enough for me to require water or cry for help - maybe a level 2 out of level 5) and lots of herby flavours. The chips were ok. The salad was refreshing with lots of green leaves and cucumber.
The eggplant parma is around $24 bucks from memory.
Very quick service. Lovely staff. Great vibe.
NExt time I'm going to get the kamikaze! :) read more
