Relocated to new basement shop in Cheung sha wan. Staff not well informed except for shop owner. Bike tune-up was sloppily done. Left grease everywhere and uncleaned. Didn't seem they care other than to sell bikes. Would not recommend. read more

A sporting goods store with many options! This location is…read moretheir flagship store so they carry much more merchandise. I was specifically looking for a headlamp for my husbands night hiking trip. The headlamps range generally from 300$HKD to 800$HKD. They do have one that is $1200. It all depends on your specifics. Anyway, they have a whole wall of them. They also have various choices for backpacks, hiking sticks, sneaker shoes, sleeping bags, and probably anything else you could need for your camping or hiking trip. I didn't see any bikes, but they probably had them in the other sections that I did not venture in to. Safe travels!

Canada goose coats. A super great winter coat. (Not needed in HK. Ha!)
If you step off the Mui Wo ferry and turn right you'd be quickly confronted by an army of riderless…read morebikes, 100s of them. It would make you think that since there are so many bikes there should be a couple of bike shops. Not entirely. Walking around Mui Wo I've noticed that Bike Shop is the last one standing, there is another one but I have not seen it open for the two months that I've lived here. Mui Wo, being a mini Amsterdam when it comes to bikes, is lucky to have a place like the Bike Shop around. People living farther away from the ferry pier than it is comfortable to walk often ride bikes and there is even a biking lane for them! Bike Shop offers the residents of the island a place to purchase new bikes, scooters, and repair old ones. Without fail, every time I walk past Bike Shop there are a pair of men working on one bike or another! I went in curious to see what I could buy. They have a range of bikes for young to old, cheapish to expensive. Living right by the pier it wouldn't make sense to get a travel-bike (ones used to get from the pier to home) so I looked at their mountain bikes. It's been a while since I've last bought a bike so checking out the prices blew my mind. Should I pay rent... or should I buy a bike I'm going to use once a month? On this occasion my brain took control and told me that as cool as a mountain bike is, sleeping under a roof is even cooler! With that decided I left the shop empty handed, but I'm going back with a friend later this week to see what they are selling outside, it looked like 2nd hand bikes. I may be tempted to go for one of them then!
Owned and run by Tony Pringle, Bike Energy Lab is the place to come if you want to get more out of…read morea bike you already own or want to make sure your new bike is perfectly set up for you by performing a bike fit. Tony takes his time to make sure he understands your background, experience, and goals, using this information so that the bike setup is attuned to them making the fitting a personalised process. He also uses Retul, a motion capture system developed specifically for cycling, to gather real-time, three-dimensional data and gain a very accurate understanding of what happens while you are riding bike. It is a fascinating to understand exactly what position you are in and see how it varies according to your effort level. Using Retul, Tony can make tiny adjustments to the bike setup and immediately see how they impact your overall position on the bike. This really helps find a position that is both comfortable, aero and powerful. At the end of the process he will provide you with all the raw data for future use when you buy your next bike or for comparison purposes at a later date. Arguably best of all, during the course of the 4 or so hours I spent with him Tony imparted so much valuable information, tricks and tips which added to my overall cycling knowledge greatly. 5 stars all the way!
