If not necessary, I would stay away from coming to the main office here in Central district. But with some banking needs one has to go to the main office to complete the process. As a financial centre, I am surprised that Hang Seng Bank being such a major bank in HK only has one counter to process "Stock & Bonds" maybe most often things are being done on-line, but due to some regulations there are still a major part of the process requires in-person service. Anyways, I hope I do not need to come to their Main office in the near future! read more
In the US, Banks compete for your business by providing excellent customer service. Frequently during the busy hours, there are additional staff to handle the peak traffic like lunch time and after work. Apparently, the same is not true in Hong Kong. A friend had to stop in at this main branch of the Hang Seng Bank and although it was only about 3 p.m., there were dozens of people in the main line. She had to wait over 40 minutes to be helped. Even the premium customers know that there's going to be a wait and it was extremely amusing to see a fellow bring his own folding chair to wait in line. See my picture. I'm not an international Banker so I'll probably have no reason to bank here but if this Bank were located in the US, I definitely would not bank here because of the outrageous waiting time for service. On the plus side, the bank is extremely clean and there are ample chairs to wait in a designated waiting area. Unfortunately, no chairs while waiting in line. read more

Their customer service people lack communication ability. I asked them a very simple question and they mumbled and mumbled and failed to give a clear answer read more
Hang Seng is one of Hong Kong's largest banks, and its headquarters are nestled in the west end of Central. Since I am a client that lives around the area, this is my primary branch. When you enter this building, you could marvel at its rather grand interior design, sporting high ceilings and a mural done in the style of classic Chinese paintings. Considering how long it takes to see a bank teller, that's probably what you'll be doing in as you wait in line anyway. Over the years, Hang Seng has invested in automating many of the menial tasks that you'd otherwise have to have a teller handle, such as offering foreign exchange ATMs. It should be noted however that Hong Kong ATMs are more "specialized" unlike in North America where all ATMs do the same set of tasks, so check what services the machines offer before lining up, or you may wind up feeling disappointed from the money you wasted after discovering that the machine you lined up for doesn't do what you need it to do. If you have a premier bank account or even a "Priority Banking" bank account, your wait times for tellers will be significantly shorter. You get called over from a comfy seat if you're using premier banking. read more

This bank used to known for excellent customer service over the year this excellence deteriorated and to day the best you can rate is one of the poor customer service banks around. I did a electronic transfer which takes a hour to accomplish and two days later I noted the transfer was messed up badly. So I call and I got transfer to three different departments with three different sets of identification process asking question number of question that are ridiculous in nature not related to your identity. Then they claimed one of the questions are not correct and told me to hang up and call back again. How STUPID is this. This bank is for me read more
