To be honest, I don't really know how to rate Lung Mo Temple, let alone write a review about it…read more But I would like to share my experience. Lung Mo Temple is the largest temple on the tiny island of Peng Chau. I know there are MANY people who will travel all the way here to worship the respectable Lung Mo goddess aka Dragon Mother - mainly those who wants to conceive a baby, especially for a baby boy, but also, for those who wants good luck and a smooth sailing year. I don't exactly believe in these things; unfortunately, I was dragged here. I will tell you WHY, and WHAT happened: So. Lung Mo Temple is also famous for having a 'Dragon Bed'. It is hidden in a locked up chamber inside the temple. By touching the 'bed', it is believed to not only bring you good luck, but the very object you touch on the bed can predict your future. WHAT?! ...I know this because, I HAD TO TOUCH THE DANG THING. I don't want to sound offensive or disrespectful, but I was totally weird out, and that chamber was creepy af. From the past history, as I was told, your wish will be granted from the Lung Mo goddess when you touch the 'bed' and pray wholeheartedly. Another example, when you put your newborn baby onto the bed, your baby will grow up happily, healthily and live a prosperous life. But I was also told it works just fine by saying your prayers at the temple; but for good measure, it is like extra bonus points if you touch the 'bed', especially if you desperately want conceive a baby. To go into the chamber, you will need to prepare offerings (money) to be donated to the Lung Mo Temple. I think my relative really WANTS TO MAKE SURE that I will conceive a baby in the future, that is why I was dragged here. Anyways, this OLD lady, who works at the temple, led me up these steep stairs to the secret chamber where I see the 'Dragon Bed' in all red and gold. I had to kneel down and say my prayers in front of the Lung Mo goddess statue; then touch the bed, and this doll on the bed; then pick out a red pocket from between the bed sheets, and viola! You are now preggos. LMAO, just kidding. I know I shouldn't be making fun of these things, but I promise you, I was on my best behaviour while this entire act was carried out in all seriousness. I just want to make sure my relative is happy, who did all this just for me. Traditional people will always be traditional people. When you are in a foreign country like Hong Kong, you just gotta go with their flow. I'm still a bit weird out though.
