My mom's cousin is a member here, so we met up with him and his family at this spot for dinner. I liked the variety of selection of food here, with western and eastern offerings. Service was impeccable and not bothersome at all.
The first course was a choice of Chinese herbal soup or a Hong Kong-style tomato borscht. I went for the former and I definitely got what I asked for. It's strong and bitter but clear. The bread rolls were light rye with raisins, which was interesting. They were passable.
I went for the Malaysian curry beef brisket and definitely enjoyed this one. The curry had the right balance of spiciness and creaminess to it. I was going to order the Vietnamese lemongrass oxtail by tried my brother's order. It was braised nicely and had a nice lemongrass fragrance. I didn't try the Hainan chicken rice but it looked quite presentable.
Dessert were profiteroles, which were definitely an afterthought. Pass. The lighting here wasn't my cup-of-tea but not too disturbing. What was kinda disturbing was the repetitive Christmas music. I know they play Christmas music past the holiday in HK, I get it, but please don't repeat the song throughout the dining experience...please? read more
