Art Nouveau Post Office!
This post office is one of the fanciest I've been in! The ceilings are maybe 3 stories tall, and there's wonderful pieces of art in a large waiting room. It's an absolutely beautiful public building!
Once you come in the building, you gotta take a number from one of the machines out in front of the main hall. There's plenty of seating, and screens that display the current number. When I went, early in the morning, there was no wait, and I just waltzed up to the first open counter and was greeted by an unfriendly postal clerk who didn't speak English. Fortunately, with the help of a translating app and some international sign language, I got my postcard stamp needs taken care of. They offered some pretty plain looking stamps. But, if you speak Czech, you can actually get your own face on a stamp! They have a program where they'll take your picture and stick in on a stamp for you!
Overall, the postage to the USA was cheaper than other countries, and it was a magnificent post office. I wouldn't go out of my way to tour this place, but it's a nice place to get some stamps! read more
