I really dig this place. It was built by the Lichtensteins and is in the middle of a giant beautiful park. Probably one of my top parks out there. I believe they used it to sometimes entertain guests, and the guided tour of the chateau is great. We had a really humorous tour guide who told us about one of the queens who apparently had 24 children as well as a clever king who imported a giant Viennese mirror so he could look at a painting that his wife didn't want him to see.
A lot of the park is actually artificial--with artificial lakes and ponds, but still beautiful nonetheless. There is a giant mineret that you can also climb to get some beautiful views of Lednice but unfortunately we didn't have the time to go. It was cool to learn about the Lichtensteins because apparently they wanted to keep this park open, so entrance to the park area is free. Another UNESCO site!
tldr; great park, great ostentatious chateau, but very interesting history about the LIchtensteins read more
