This photos involved lederhosen. I started looking online for them but didn't really have a ton of luck. Then I thought WAIT A SECOND! We have a costume shop here in Kansas City. Maybe they have them - and if not, maybe they can suggest a place that does. Well, lo and behold - they have lederhosen - along with the shirts and little bowties - among other things. So many other things - for rent or purchase. This place is amazing. Accessories, costumes, etc. Fantastic options. But I digress. I emailed The KC Costume Co. and Jenny wrote me back. She asked to see the photo and, after seeing it, said she could help. A few months passed and I contacted her on July 30th. I confirmed the reservation and what time we'd be there to pick things up. We arrived at 10am on Monday morning. She was ready and waiting. They tried on the costumes and adjustments were made with shirts and sizes of lederhosen. We went and had the pictures taken and I returned the costumes and the rest is history. Customer service is great. I cannot recommend them enough. They made what could have been a difficult problem super easy to solve. I will be back - maybe for halloween maybe for something else *wink wink* okaybye. Aimee

I was very impressed with the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. I was greeted with "Let's…read moreParty!" when I walked in. Then a staffer offered to help me find what I was looking for. I got the same treatment when I returned a few days later for more plates and table covering. On my second trip, a staffer was having problems carrying a balloon bouquet out to deliver it. I offered to hold the door for him. Even though he was obviously having a bad day, he thanked me and we had a good laugh over the challenges of balloon wrangling. I will definitely be returning next time I need part supplies.

Like many others, I did not have a good experience on a recent trip to this Party City location. I…read morewanted to go get a balloon for a birthday, and there were a couple of folks in front of me in line. There was one cashier, there was one person filling balloons, and a manager of some kind who didn't seem to be much help to either one of them. This person was clearly overwhelmed by the fact that several folks wanted balloons filled at 4p on a Friday night. The cashier was having some issue with the first person's transaction, but the manager was no help. I waited in line almost 20 minutes before someone behind me in line asked the manager "How long would it take to get my balloons filled once I pay?" The manager's reaction was super rude and she said to no one in particular "We aren't filling more balloons tonight." The person asked if they could buy them and pick them up in the morning and the manager just walked away. I was next in line by this point, so I waited. When it was my turn, I asked the cashier if I could pick up my balloons in the morning, and he said he didn't know. So I left my items with him, and left. I went just down the road to Hy-Vee where the selection wasn't as good, but the service was way better. I would recommend going elsewhere.

It was a dark and stormy night...Halloween is upon us...I'm not going even going to go there. I…read moreneeded some white knee highs, and knew they would have them. I opened up the doors, and they had tons of stuff....my favorite would've been the Amy Brown fairy costumes for adults. I had a look around, well, not a quick look around, cause this store has everything you would ever want in a Halloween costume. Besides the Amy Brown fairies for adults and children, they had the Glee cheerleader costume. And, they have a pregnant stomach, and Super Mario, and naughty nurse and tons and tons of stuff. They have a zombie baby decoration that cries when you walk by. There's an area in the back set up like a haunted house, complete with fake corpses and even fake headless things. They aren't cheap, aren't local, and are very commercial, but the next time I need a Halloween costume, I'll try there first...if I had only bought the Glee cheerleader costume, that would've been awesome, or the naughty nurse, or the fairy. let me explain about the fairies...I always wanted one for a tattoo, and Amy Brown fairy. That is how much I like Amy Brown's work. I was so surprised to see that. And they are so detailed. There are fitting areas, as well. I'd probably need one to try on the Glee cheerleader costume. So, I touched, and pressed all the buttons setting off all the motion active decorations, and left, buying one pair of white knee highs.

I was checking their site online and was presented with a terrific 'Save 25% on one item' coupon that could be used in the retail stores as well. Oh, yes, I do love saving money, so I can BUY MORE Halloween decorations....so I printed out the coupon and headed over to see the goodies. Lots of screamers on display, believe you me. I really wanted the evil three-headed dog with flashing red eyes -- all six of them -- and steam issuing from every snarling mouth, but it was more than I could justify spending. What did I get, you ask? Well, if you want to know that, you'll just have to come trick or treating at my house this year, won't you? Warning: If you are deathly afraid of clowns, I'd avoid this store at all costs. Or at least take a friend (someone you can trust) with you. EVERYWHERE....clowns! Holy crap! This place is a beautiful nightmare if I've ever seen one…read more Deep into KCK, this is more than simply a costume shop, and I was thoroughly impressed in my tour. I came in to browse random costumes, but was immediately taken aback by the sheer magnitude and variety of offerings. If this place doesn't have what you want, it doesn't exist. Where to start? True to the name, this place has just a ridiculous selection of prop guns. Some are fake, but many are actually real guns that have been deactivated. With all types of firearms from all eras, I felt like I was in some secret backroom belonging to a separatist movement, and I mean that in the best way possible. Oh, and the same goes for swords, spears and anything else you could use to pretend to kill somebody onstage. The costumes they have are pretty dang legit. Period clothing and uniforms in excellent condition. This isn't a costume shop strictly for Halloween drunkenness, this is a place for when you REALLY need to look the part. I was astounded by the quality of costumes. They also have full mascot costumes! Like you'd see at football games! Man oh man, I would love to just play in that room for a while. And no, I'm not a furry. There's also the typical Halloween stuff, fake blood and crappy wigs and cheap decorations. But on top of that, there are just mountains of awesome props. It all seems incredibly disorganized, but the staff seem to know where everything is. I would LOVE to spend hours just digging through this place, as I think it might just be Kansas City's best treasure hunt. Highly worth checking out.
