The sauce is the best I've ever had, with a powerful flavor which goes perfectly with the beef, red cabbage & potato dumplings. Each part of the dish is served separately, which is a nice touch. Service is very friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is quiet. Prices are very reasonable, especially considering the excellent food. This place seems to be frequented by locals, or at least other Germans. We seemed to be the only obvious tourists there.

During the warmer months this is a popular place in this area. It is located in a forest next to a…read morequiet residential area. Getting there is not so easy as no main roads lead there. You have to drive through small streets and there are no clear directions to get there. Parking space is limited especially if the weather is nice so keep this in mind if you want to go. The actual restaurant is really nice, they have a big outdoor seating area, modern, not your typical German "Biergarten" which are normally very simple and rustic. Service can be disappointing especially if it's packed. They just don't have enough servers to cover all the tables. We came here during the first sunny day in May already at noon time. The place was less than half occupied but we had to wait quite a bit before getting our order taken. Drinks wise they have a nice selection of wines by the glass as well as some good bottles. They even have some rare German pinots which are hard to find. If you like beer they have some nice ones on tab. Food wise you can choose between their main menu or go for their BBQ items or pizza. The BBQ items and pizza you can get at their self service counter. If you opt for the dishes from the menu you will be offered classic German fare with a modern touch and some Mediterranean dishes. I have to say that their kitchen is doing an excellent job, every dish I tasted was really good. If you like pizza, it is really good as well, thin enough and very crispy. Although the prices here are not cheap and service can be lousy I still like the Auermühle and will definitely return.

The menu is in German and English and try also have a children's menu. Our server was very nice. I ordered the Salmon which was excellent. My husband ordered the filet, Medium-well. It came out RARE! He sent it back and it came back medium. For 29€ I expected it cooked correctly, and since this is Germany, I was actually a bit shocked that it was undercooked, twice! We tried the dessert trio which was good. The chocolate mousse was the most flavorful. The creme brûlée had an inconsistent texture. I think we will give the place another try and hopefully next time it will be a better experience.

The service is a little too professional for me, I like when my waiter or waitress can be friendly and have a laugh or two, not a big deal though. There menu here is gigantic with so much too choose from it is tough to decide what you want and they don't have an English menu which made it even more difficult to decide. But after a few minutes and using my translator I went with number 96 Hausteller. There were vegetables, potatoes, and three kinds of meat which I believe were pork, beef and turkey in a really good pepper sauce. All of the meat was cooked really well. You also get the salad bar which is nice while you are waiting for your main course, the salad bar is small but it is better than nothing. Then for desert I had a crepe with vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce. It was pretty good, wish there was more ice cream and wish the chocolate sauce was warm but overall a good desert. Then at the end of the meal, apparently it is in their culture you do a shot of schnapps after the meal so we were all given a shot and it wasn't too bad but I wouldn't order it at a bar. A really cool experience though from start to finish.

The restaurant was busy and she was so stressed out, but we often saw her outside where no patrons were sitting. Anyway, I ordered Schnitzel with mushroom sauce and it was excellent. But her overall service put a damper on the evening. After waiting for a long time to pay the bill, we left pretty annoyed.
