In the small freezer are frozen pies made with fresh fruit from Willamette Valley. some fresh pies are also available in small and large sizes. While there you can also pick up milk, yogurt, cheese. Cottage cheese, and eggs making this a one stop shopping experience. They only have 1-2 varieties of each, but they're the brands I like. So happy I stopped in. When I go to Trader Joe's down the street, I'll stop here first for my fruits and veggies and the eggs which are just $4.99 and local.

This market runs just a few blocks and some side streets- but has a diverse mix of vendors and products: cheeses, the obvious blooming plants, fresh produce of course, cookies+baked goods to munch on as you stroll or take with you, mushrooms- the cooking kind, not the trip type, chai tea, etc. I had a great time when my daughter brought me here. We managed to get some mushrooms to cook at her apartment (didn't get around to it)- but I'm sure they'll taste fabulous with some butter! Vendors all have a super friendly energy and the feel here is totally upbeat. This was a terrific way to celebrate and support local farmers, vendors and artisans who offer their unique products.

They had about 15-20 vendors with all kinds of ultra-local/fresh/organic produce, baked goods, patisseries/desserts, eggs/meat, etc, very much keeping in theme with the People's Co-Op. Also, they are able to accept debit/credit cards which is a huge added convenience (I think you buy tokens with them and then use the tokens to buy actual products). A lot of the sellers here you will not find at the big Hollywood or PSU farmers markets, so it's nice to know there's more variety and another non-weekend market to consider! It's definitely worth checking out if you're in the neighborhood! Biking or walking there is highly recommended :-)

Smaller than the markets I typically visit, the vendors represent a wide array of goods. And I got my Hood strawberries! As with all markets, there were lots of fresh fruits and produce available. One stand even put together a sampler box of Hood strawberries, local cherries and sugar snap peas, 2 pints of each. Very clever! Menegon,, the French crepe and caramel stand had me at hello. I had to sample the caramel, coffee caramel, and chocolate caramel and they all were divine! Rather than buy the sample pack, I opted for the 6oz jar of regular caramel; it was so soft and buttery, fabulous on crepes but why stop there? Drizzle in ice cream, pound cake, even in coffee. Made without excess sugar and no preservatives, I'll be back for the coffee caramel next! Wild Roots, a local and outstanding vodka distiller was represented there, as they are at most Portland Farmers Markets. Forest Edge Vineyards, a small winery from Forest Grove was also there offering samples and had a variety of their wine for sale. Most bakery items (scones, croissants) were gone by 4:30 but there were breads and cookies still up for grabs. Jams, bbq sauces, fruit juices, chips & salsa, botanical flavored salts, and a few other stands rounded out the goods. Several hot foods available too! Open on Wednesdays from 2-6pm, this is a great little mid-week market. Parking is challenging for those like me who drive here from other areas, but I was able to find a spot. Vendors are all engaging and the entire atmosphere is friendly and neighborly.

But some neighborhoods have organized their own independently, drawing farmers and ready to eat food kitchens. They even have their own, up to date website. Musical performances. All ages friendly. And Captured by Porches serves beer. The Moreland Farmers Market is a small well curated independent farmers market to find fresh ingredients, or to dine out on the spot with neighbors.

No dogs unless they are service dogs, but many people disregard that rule. People bring their dogs anyways which is a bit disrepctful. We never bring our dogs. If your in line and catching up with a friend still pay attention or have your kids with you or you think you should text and walk. There is live music and some great food stalls. Yummy donuts too!

While hubs stayed in the hotel room, my daughter, my mom and I had a blast. Especially those two who sampled a ton of bite-size snacks and things. What's happening indoors? Totally different story. The three of us weren't even sure where to start the feast- but we knew we were in luck. From the moistest Chocolate+Toffee cookies, to El Barro's Mexican tropical fruit empanadas to Imo Madoi's Japanese veggie snacks down to chili oil+cream cheese¯\_(ツ)_/¯at another indoor kiosk, everything was tasty. Survey says: Dig in! The indoor space is pretty big and so is the upstairs with several rooms full of Sake retail, candles also on sale and to ease your mind a bit, a back room hooked to the nines with a Hawaiian theme and lights off as Blue Hawaii played on screen. SnackFest is $0 to enter, but you do have to show ID and get braceleted (is that a word?) if you want to enjoy cocktails indoors. The Imo Madoi Japanese snacks were godsent for our 5+1/2 hour direct NYC flight. Even if you were buying which we did, this snack, as well as other tidbits we purchased were some of the tastiest- not to mention, cheapest. As this was my first visit, I can't say whether or not the number of vendors is reduced thanks to COVID, as there is plenty of room for expansion along the other faces of the park. Located on the SW Waterfront by OHSU, situated in front of the beautiful Elizabeth Carothers Park, it's perfect for taking your dog for a stroll or if you want to purchase items for a meal and picnic there. Mt. Tabor Bread is one of the best bakeries in Portland and it's worth a stop by this market just to pick up a baguette or their fig/walnut bread. If you want a scrumptious treat to eat on the spot, highly recommend the buckwheat chocolate chip or dark chocolate chocolate rye cookie. Or both! The Pie-guy has an assortment of pies, all out of this world. Sour cream key lime, marionberry, apple, pecan, blueberry, dazzle dazzle mixed berry - taste them all and it will be a challenge to pick one to bring home! My faves are the key lime and apple. They come in small (for 1-2), medium (2-3) and large. They are a few dollars more than pies I see at other markets, but the quality makes it worth it. Located on both the streetcar and max lines, it's easy to get here. There is street parking also, but depending on the time (5:00 on) it can be challenging. I stop by when they open and usually pull right up in front of stands.
