The Paris club is a really cool bar on the top floor of the 25 hour hotel in Dusseldorf. To get in,…read moreyou need to enter the elevator up to the top floor. We visited on a rainy Thursday afternoon and the place was packed! I can only imagine how busy it will get on a sunny summer day. The views from the top are outstanding and there are some chairs right on the balcony to enjoy the day while having a drink with friends. The cocktails (Gin and tonic) are also great. There is no dress code and casual clothes and sneakers worked out which was refreshing because the bar is really high end and I was concerned for a minute when we arrived. The only downside in my experience was that the service was not great. Maybe because the place was packed or maybe because the staff is just not super friendly, but i felt like we were brushed away and rushed. It is a gorgeous view on a great bar so I will definitely be going back

Service - good. As the crowd grew the service did get rather slow. The server chatted with us about our likes and dislikes to determine the cocktail that was right for our taste. Cocktails - no complaints. Over a couple of hours we had a selection of drinks. They were all very good. Although, I thought my manhattan had a bit too much sweet vermouth - still good, just a little too sweet. Overall - definitely, highly recommended. Beuys is a nice contrast to the usual drinking of Alt in the pubs.

Probably the best way to describe this bar is as an old man's pub. Sure, it is located in the heart…read moreof Dusseldorf's bar district, but it doesn't seem to be one of those places that the tourists tend to visit. Okay, I visited it, but then again I have this habit of trying to visit as many different places as possible. However, this bar simply seemed to be one of those bars that has their regulars and really nothing else, which can actually be a pretty cool thing because it means that it is quiet and you are unlikely to be disturbed. Personally, I didn't mind it, but it wasn't one of the best in Dusseldorf.

You step toward the back cigar room and the door opens automatically revealing an equally classy room with leather chairs, ashtrays and lots of cigar smoke. Because this stuff will warm you up and get you a bit liquidated if you're not careful. Place your order at the square window in the front and then sip your shotglass (it's yours to keep!) at the wooden table in front while you watch the tourists (hey, that's me!) walk past. Killepitsch is dark red and perhaps sweeter than Jägermeister, flavored with fruits, berries, herbs and spices. Don't let the looks deceive you. It will definitely get you rolling. Killepitsch is 42% alcohol by volume (84 proof) and delicious. Yes, you can buy a whole bottle if you wish. The one shot of this was enough for me.
