This is a real bar with really good music and authentic staff and a great selection of drinks. The bar often has DJ´s playing. One on my favorite bars in St. Pauli. It is a sort of insider tip if you want to experience the real St. Pauli spirit. It´s location just off the Reeperbahn is easy and ideal to reach. Hopfenstrasse has several other very authentic bars next to Gunclub. I will be back.

There are four bars placed next to each other and they offer everything from surf to punk rock music. The Gun Club often has DJs and the music they play is mostly rock and punk rock. If you want something original St. Pauli this must be it - I have not seen anything like this in many years. You just have to go there and see it yourself - it cannot be described. You will get great service, nice DJ music and a friendly smile and a lot of stories :-). They serve beer, a sort of champagne and drinks such as vodka, rum, whiskey etc. They have a "Fussball" table for those interested. I have seen the Gammaray lead singer there several times so if you are a fan it is surely worth a visit. I will be back to this unique and very simple place with its warm and cute simplicity. Some people claim that David Lynch got most of his ideas for Twin Peaks in this bar. You will find characters here that you could not imagine existed for real unless you have a very twisted mind. The music played here is likely the best in St. Pauli if not in the entire world. The old nearly deaf DJ plays the best music I have ever heard anywhere in the world. His same age wife is running the bar in a great and comfortable pace. If you are into the rare and unspoiled this is the place to be. This is the real St. Pauli with an original old sailor as DJ. This is an old bar with the candle of eternal life located on the bar desk. Some of the guests in the bar are said to be over 100 years old (maybe even the DJ and his wife) and they all claim that if you eat a small piece of the candle of eternal life you will as the name suggests - likely live forever. This is great news as you can then forever enjoy this fantastic bar with great music and originals. If you get bored living forever there is a kicker table where you can play football in all eternity... I will surely be back.
