The meals here were excellent. Breakfast was wonderful, such variety of fresh delicious foods! Our room was comfortable ( except it was unusually hot outside so it was pretty warm inside. This is a European problem -- with very old historical buildings. Next time I'll bring a little fan ). The pool, spa area was lovely. We were there at the time of a wine festival outside which became very loud and boisterous in the street, so it was noisy, but that was unusual. A great location for walking around the town. Such a great town, I could live there! Very convenient driving to castles, and nature parks, which was a bonus since we were there on business. I hope I can return some day!

Driving from the castles to Mittenwald, our next Alpine destination, we stopped for a night's rest…read morein between. Arriving as the town was shutting down for the night we happened upon a friendly hotel in Lermoos. We didn't even realize we'd crossed the boarder into Austria until the staff told us. We chatted with the proprietor and his sidekick, old friends that were in a band together in the 60's called The Playboys, who run the establishment and perform there now and then as, "The Old Playboys". All the restaurants in town had closed but our hosts were kind enough to prepare an after hours potato and dumpling goulash and beer before we turned in.
