2nd visit to Uxbridge and so wanted to have a really nice Italian dinner…read more We both ordered off the 2 items menu with my wife selecting the mushroom crostini and a pasta dish, while I ordered spaghetti and a tiramisu to follow. When the appetizer arrived I asked if it was possible to add garlic bread with our entrees and was told, absolutely. The mushroom app was fabulous, however a little short of bread, hence the garlic bread addition, for our entree. Our entrees arrived and we waited for the garlic bread. After waiting for sometime we started our entrees. The waitress came by and told us that the bread would be another 'minute'. The minute turned into many more minutes and the bread arrived after we had finished our entree's. We then sat for 10 minutes or more, looking at our finished plates and garlic bread having gone to waste. We caught our waitress's attention and told her we were all done. She respond, 'are we finished with the bread' and I responded, 'yes as it arrived after we had finished our meal'! After another 5-10 mins of waiting we were presented with dessert menu's and caught our waitress's attention before she left to remind her that we had ordered dessert with the initial order. The tiramisu was great as well:) While we would recommend Bella Italia because the food was delicious and tasty, other than the untouched garlic bread, the service was really very poor. This was definitely not helped by being charged for the 'late to the table' bread.

Wakley's is a wonderful little cafe/deli and perfect for early morning coffee and ideal for lunchtime. I always take my food back to the office, but they have a few comfortable tables for if you choose to dine in. The menu is really impressive, especially for such a small and unassuming spot. My favourite thus far is the parma ham, mozzarella and sun-dried tomato on ciabatta. Ooooooooh mama!! You can get just about any kind of sandwich you want in there, and they've always got some great specials as well (like crispy duck...yummmmm). And last but not least, the staff are all very friendly! Highly HIGHLY recommended.

A fantastic local find!…read more I've been walking past this place every day for the last year and had never dared step inside (it doesn't look like much from the outside) but as it turns out, the food is scrumptious and surprisingly cheap. Run by mother and son, serving authentic Eastern European dishes. I had the borsch, a sweet beetroot soup full of fresh herbs and veg, served with a dollop of soured creme and croutons. For main I had the Pierogi, home-made dumplings, with a mix of fillings: meat, mushroom & cabbage and creamy potato & onion. Dessert was divine... pancakes filled with melted dark chocolate and fresh strawberries. My friend had the deep fried sweet goats cheese with raspberry coulis (I kid you not, it was one of the best puddings ever!) Since the first visit I have been going back every week or two. Really friendly and attentive service, chilled cafe atmosphere, and it's generally nice to support a cool, family-run, local place.

They offer larger portion sizes of this breakfast, but the Traditional is a large amount of food on it's own and a great deal for the price. The owners were a very high-energy man and woman working the counter and grill. The decor is kind of 1950's/1960's post-war Baby Boomer look and feel, but with photos of punk pin-ups. It's definitely a unique look for a random cafe, but it works. Thank you again Finchley Kitchen for the fantastic meal and excellent service! We recommended you to some local American Ex-pats we were staying with, so hopefully they become regulars.

The restaurant offered a wide selection of Turkish food, catering to both adults and children. We decided to go for mixed grill to share which came with various proteins - rice, hummus, bread and salad. The most enjoyable out of all were the chicken wings. I also liked the hummus. The restaurant was generous on their portions as well. We managed to take some of our leftovers home. Not a bad spot to try out if you are in the neighbourhood.
