My second time coming here and both times the food and service was superb. When you walk in, you're greeted by the host and waiters in their native tongue. Every one of the waiters were so warm and welcoming and spoke with their Italian accents brought back a lot of memories of being in Italy. We ordered the soufflé al pecorino with the porcini mushrooms in a percino truffle cream sauce as an appetizer. The soufflé had a nice consistency and the mushrooms cream sauce had the perfect hint of truffle flavor. Perfect for dipping bread. Yum! For dinner, I ordered the Branzino alla Piastra con Gamberoni with a side of truffle mashed potatoes. The branzino was grilled deboned, butterflied with skin on. The fish was grilled to the point where the skin was crispy and the flesh was flaky and finished with a butter sauce. It was definitely better than I expected. The truffle mashed potatoes was creamy and enhanced with the truffle flavor. My husband ordered the special that night which was the braised short ribs on top of risotto. The meat on the short ribs was tender but to the point of mushy. The consistency of the risotto was perfect, between well done and el dente but it could be a bit creamier. We finished with the Tartufo al Pistacchio. I expected a little bit more pistachio flavor but the chocolate coating did make up for it. It was great finish. read more

When it comes to authentic Italian food I am extremely picky. I lived and grew up in Rome Italy for 20 years so I know what real authentic food is. It's very hard to come by and when you do its either too expensive or not that authentic. I find it offensive that they call their food Italian. Made up names for dishes you will never find or exist in Italy. I've been to zona blu numerous times and it is hands down legit 100% authentic Italian - Sardinian. Every region in Italy has their style of and way of preparing dishes. Sardinians are mostly know for their seafood dishes. The owner,chef,manager, and staff speak Italian (always good sign) and everything they use in their preparation and style of cooking is authentic. The food is traditional, rustic and just outstanding, from the house wine, home made bread, pasta, pizzas, cold cuts,cheeses and ingredients used in the dishes. The manager (Marco, he's the best) sometimes prepares and send out specialty dishes not on the menu which are known to native Italians. I highly recommend their Salumeria board (cheeses and meat), seafood, pizzas, pastas and grilled fish. Honestly everything is delicious and prepared from the heart. My big surprise came with the check. $60 for an "Ossobuco risotto" that tasted no better than a hospital chicken vegetable soup and $45 for a Cacio e Pepe pasta serving no larger than a small bowl, just because it was finished inside a cheese roll. $250 in total and no, we didn't order any alcoholic beverage. 2 adults and 2 kids. read more

You'll recognize the authenticity of this restaurant within a few minutes of walking in. It's very assuring when you hear the dialect of the food you're having! The service is excellent, everyone is very attentive and professional. All of the servers are mature no kids waiting tables so you're getting knowledgable experienced servers. The menu is pretty extensive, but they will accommodate any special request you might have. For starter we shared a Pasta e Fagioli which was delicious! The bread they serve is unique, warm and good. I think they're a little overpriced for Italian food, but it is Weston so it's expected. Our pasta dishes were both cooked al dente and both delicious with a generous portion. For dessert we shared a really really good Mango Panna Cotta which other than being small and $9 was excellent! They do open the doors so you'll get a few flies hovering around. After hearing a lot of good things about Zona a friend and our daughters decided to check it out for our biweekly girls night out. Food: I had the eggplant pizza. It was delicious. Nice sized slices of eggplant, cooked perfectly. Crust was thin and delicious. My friend had the veggie pizza which she also enjoyed. The girls had the kid's spaghetti and marinara. They had special placemats with a pretty good menu selection for the kids. What they didn't have (or didn't think of bringing us) were kids' cups. For dessert we had the Nutella pizza...OMG DELISH! I took home most of my pizza (more than 1/2) and it was placed in a standard to go box, stacked in a pile. They should have put in a pizza box. Ambiance: very nice. Super clean. Nice use of the space. Service: this is where they need improvement. While service was friendly, it was very slow. Our waiter disappeared after taking our order and the busboy took better care of us. We were there almost 2 hours with 2 5 yr olds. When we finally received the bill he just dropped it and left. I had to flag down the busboy to pay our bill. Once it was in someone's hands a totally different waiter retuned our cards for us to sign...along with a survey card. Hmmm There were quite a few things on the menu that need better explanation to those of us not familiar with Sardinian food. Dinner was $90 (plus tip) for 2 adults and 2 kids. We realized after we paid we were charged for 3 beers instead of the 2 we ordered. My friend just didn't feel like waiting longer to have it corrected. She said the few dollars wasn't worth the wait. There were some interesting dishes that I would like to try, however I would not go back with my kid due to the service times. Found this gem via Yelp while tromping thru the nearby IKEA (we wanted something other than swedish meatballs!) Been back anytime we are close-by as it has become one of our favorites. Be forewarned, in the suburban spirit of hiding retail, Zona Blu is not easily found. It is in the Walgreens strip mall just south of Rt 84 The food is excellent, the service is first rate, and the decor has a casual rustic charm that is very cool. Their wonderful rolls are served warm, the salads were lightly dressed and well balanced, the pastas and entrees all packed with incredible flavors. The Salumaria... a u pic'um selection of delicious meats and cheeses... we couldn't make up our mind so we ordered more than we really needed. They were very generous portion sizes so we took the extra home for the next day! Over the course of our visits we have dined on many of the menu items and everything has been wonderful... well prepared generous portions of flavorful food. Great ambiance. Fantastic food but I am very critical on prices. The staff is attentive, professional and very experienced. The host is airways gracious and gets you to your tables in a timely manner. No long waits. Greets you when you arrive and thanks you when you leave. Class act and classy operation. Great for any important occasion. I do have a negative about their prices. The cost is more for a high end South Beach restaurant. There are little soft delicious pillows of heaven. I ordered the Linguine Nere all'Arresina, which is black squid linguine with shrimp and asparagus. It was a taste of the sea, and I loved the shrimp but I didn't find anything exciting about it. For $20 it had 5 medium sized shrimp, bits of asparagus and tomatoes and a nice heaping pile of the linguine. It's not something I would order again, but I would happily return to try another dish because my husband's lamb shank and risotto was delicious. read more

My sister and went to Zona Blu in Weston for the first time. I never write reviews, but felt so needed to this time. We weren't ready to order the first time the waiter came by as it was our first time in the establishment. However, it took forever for the waiter to come back, but when he did, he walked away before I could give him our complete order. I have never felt so ignored and rudely treated in a restaurant. We were so upset, we got our food to go. The margarita pizza looked and tasted just like a regular cheese pizza. When I called about it, I was told that's just how it's made.
