I have never bought anything from here. The owners don't mind...at least i don't think they do- they've never said anything to me! They have a lot of good items in this shop, such as mattresses, bed stands, desks, wardrobes, and chairs...did i mention the chairs? They have the best selection of chairs around! The chairs are probably the best value itesms in the store. Everything else seems quite expensive comapred to similar items at Tescos or Ikea. However, we need to support the independants so i definately would reccommend giving Clearance Centre a visit. The owners leave you free to browse, and the majority of items are second-hand meaning bargains all round! Brilliant!

Everything is very thrown together in here, and I suspect that underneath that first layer of shelves, cupboards and tables, there are more shelves, cupboards and tables.. and maybe a lamp or five. It's an alright shop if you've got a really low budget for furniture in your house (students, take note!), and maybe you won't get the best design or quality, but I suppose they are functional and good for a temporary solution. The shop also sells a variety of beds and mattresses, both doubles and singles, and operates a free local delivery service catering for the majority of customers who don't have a van on demand. I bought a lovely little chest of drawers made from hard wood here which cost me a fiver, to give you an idea of the bargains you'll find. Staff are great too - chatty and very willing to help.

My wife and I just bought a new bed and, though I had pretty much nothing to do with the research,…read moreI've been informed that this place is far cheaper than Sweet Dreams (even though they had a sale on at the time). I entered the fray when visiting the store where we were confronted by a salesperson (though he probably goes under the job title of something ridiculous like a 'sleep consultant'). He was pleasant and helpful enough, though we both had to stifle a giggle when he said "this is the part my boss hates me telling customers about" (yes, he actually said that). Anyway, he made us lie on a dummy bed/computer contraption which he added our heights and weights into which then suggested our perfect mattress. Being different sizes, they were also able to knock up a custom made mattress of two halves, one side for each of us. I was a little sceptical about this, though it can't be denied that it is extremely comfortable (and you can take it back within 40 days if you don't like it). We also haggled and got bed protectors and pillows thrown in. It took about a month to deliver as the frame we chose was so popular (but very cheap), though on the day in question it arrived on time. We were £1,000 poorer, but it's guaranteed for 10 years, and what price would you put on a good night's sleep?
