I used to be a monthly subscriber, yup I canceled it. It was fine and convenient when I first subscribed November 2023, things have gone downhill. The last two weeks the location was closed. No reason/notice, just cones blocking the lane. This put me over the edge. As with another reviewer I wanted to reach the owner of the franchise. There is no way to contact the owner. I get a chat agent that is probably outsourced that is way too eager to cancel the subscription on two cars. I was teetering on canceling due to the service. The line is painfully slow. Between each car, the employee working the wash goes into the office ALL THE TIME!!! If he (rarely a she) would focus on moving cars into the wash efficiently and quickly. What is in the office??? I did see other people there. It would have been nice to get a power wash before entering the wash. I am now a subscriber of a newly opened wash on 41. They have more local stores as well. read more

I had a membership here for about 3 weeks. It was closed most days when it was supposed to be open. I complained to customer service about it, and they cancelled my membership without me asking them to. As far as I can tell, this location may be permanently closed. I haven't seen it open in the last week. There are other car wash membership programs in Mt. Pleasant that cost the same and provide much better service. read more

Awful. I finally just canceled my membership. They got rid of the reputable employees and replaced them with idiots. Got crammed into the wash when it wasn't just only to play bumper cars and cause damage to peoples vehicles. The "manager" said he likes to "fit them in tight".... Experienced damage to our vehicle in Sept and have been chasing Zips by phone, text and email ever since. Went back to the site again today and the manager was told by his "District Manager" to file the claim (again). Received an immediate response after they submitted it, stating claim was denied. The large side brush mechanism in their car wash was broken, swung around the front of our car and smashed the side mirror and assembly, costing us $200 to repair. Their response was as follows. "Writing to inform you that your recent damage claim submitted to Zips Car Wash has been reviewed, and we regret to inform you that the claim has been denied. The reason for this denial is as follows: Zips Car Wash is not a touchless wash, and during the washing process, the brushes will encounter the vehicle and its accessories/parts. While we take responsibility for any malfunctions or employee errors that may occur, it is important to note that our Damage Claim Disclosure sign, located prior to entering the car wash, explicitly states that we do not cover damages to "Side Mirrors"." Needless to say I would recommend finding a more customer friendly, functional, and less destruct car wash! read more

Unless the owner is using this Zips to write off losses, he should sell it or fix it. Price for a Basic is $12. Half of the vacuum hoses don't work and there isn't any compressed air. I can overlook the rest, but the compressed air makes it worth the 12 bucks. It's a train wreck! read more

Ever since it became Zips it has gone so far downhill I'm thinking of changing back to Liquid Highway which is NOT as convenient but at least my car will be clean. No towels , broken equipment , customer service is horrible now. I hope the new owner will read this and do something about it. There are at least 3 car wash service levels, and take note of the check in offer, $4 off your service. The location is perfect on hwy 17N, and the automatic entry is simple enough to use, even for us older folks. There are staff members at the entry before you drive through, to ensure you line up that wheel right. Friendly enough. While it's a the quick service, I do tend to turn the music down to watch in amazement all the activity happening outside my car. Then you're done, as you pull out take advantage of their vacuums to clean the interior. The long hoses are perfectly positioned overhead, and work just as expected. My 2015 Jeep was badly scratched while going through a Zips Carwash. The hood, both front fenders, the driver's side mirror, and roof were etched all the way down to bare metal. They denied my claim and refused to pay anything because "the vehicle is more than 7 yrs old". It took 5 weeks to get an answer after the incident report was filled out. They're extremely unprofessional and difficult to deal with. read more

I like this place because its a newer facility and its quick and cheap. It can get pricey when you add on all the extras. I don't go for that stuff and would prefer to do most of it myself. Sometimes you just want to get the junk off your car after a long trip or during pollen season. I swing through here for a quick rinse for five bucks. It's a pretty good wash for five bucks too. Plus the vacuums are free and they actually suck (in a good way). They have plenty of trash cans to clean out your collection of water bottles you've accumulated in the back seat and they have a machine you can run your car mats through for an extra clean. Or if you have rubber mats, they have a hose station for that too. Again... this stuff is all free after a wash. Check it out! read more

Here the wash is touch-less and you just drive through, but if you would like to vacuum and clean the inside, you do it yourself. They offer plenty of vacuums and, window cleaners, and towels for you to hand dry your car. On a side note, there has been times when no clean towels were available. Pros: prices, and efficiency. Wash Wizard is all the way across town from where I live but I still drive past several other car wash options to get there! I like that they have different packages to choose from with varying prices and options. I've done everything from their basic wash to their more deluxe package and have always been satisfied with the results. The best thing about Wash Wizard has to be the included use of vacuums and those amazing little pressurized air wands. For real the air wands are MAGIC to get all of the dog fur loose from my carpets and the endless corners of my car. I've seriously spent years wasting several hours vacuuming in every which direction and still never successfully removing all of the pet hair from my vehicles. Not with this magic wand!! I blast the air with one hand and vacuum with the other for an amazingly effective dog fur removal strategy. They also provide you with a spray cleaner and towel rags to clean the interior of your car. There is a station where you can pressure wash your plastic mats or wash your carpet mats. Although there are other car washes that will do all of this for you, if you are someone that likes to do it yourself then Wash Wizard is the place to go! I don't know if it is under new management but this is NOT a place to take your car. The last five times I have used this car wash My experience and the quality of the wash as gotten worse. The last experience has prompted this review. After paying 20 dollars for a car wash which had half the large brushes not working, I informed the attendant that there was a problem. He confirmed he knew about it but argued the car wash was still cleaning cars. The debug did not work and the pre-spray that they do just before the car goes into the wash was a half ass squirt. Place was so much better before Zips took over. Vacuums are all clogged and half of the brushes in the wash don't move or touch your car, despite paying for the higher end washes. Employees used to be helpful but now are indifferent. They no longer spray the car before entering on the front and back end. Not going back until someone else takes over. read more

This used to be a great car wash when it was Wizard Wash. Now under new ownership, Zips isn't doing a great job. My wife took her car through and when the wash was finished, there was still dirt on the car. This was just a SUV not an off-road vehicle or anything so it was not very dirty. When she talked to the employees on-site about the issue, they suggested that the dirt was the color of the car, and not actually dirt. LOL ... the car is black. Dirt is brown. The brown rubbed off when she touched it with her finger. After many years of using this facility for both of our vehicles, we're done. The nearby Wando wash does a good job. read more

I was a fan of this car wash when under the Wizard Wash brand but no longer. I have tried it on a number of occasions of late (most recently yesterday) and have been completely disappointed in the results. The front and back windows are no longer brushed clean, as they were before by an attendant. The front window gets cleaned during the wash but the back window was as dirty leaving as it was when we arrived. I also observed several of the brushes not moving during the wash itself and minimal soap being dispensed. I won't be returning.... read more

Do Not Use this car wash!!! I have had a monthly pass here for approximately 4 years - ownership recently transferred to Zips. About 2 weeks ago I went through the car wash as normal and the rear brake light on my rear gate was blown/torn off of my vehicle - a Land Rover LR4. I pulled around and got the manager who came out, took pictures, and wrote an incident report. As a side note, at the same time another patron that drove through just ahead of me also has a part blown from her vehicle (a piece of trim) which they were in the process of trying to locate in the car wash bay. I was advised that I would hear back that afternoon from the manager that took the report. I waited for a couple of days with no contact from management, and finally called corporate who refuse to give me district management information or the phone number for the location. I drove back to the car wash on Highway 17 in Mt Pleasant, SC. The manager advised that after consideration that they determined that my car was previously damaged and denied liability - this is absolutely illegitimate as my vehicle is in perfect condition and I go through that car wash typically 2-3 times per week! The district manager called me a few days later and advised that he also reviewed the video and determined that it was not deemed to be a car wash equipment defect and as such denied liability. I insisted that they provide insurance information so that I might have their insurance provider investigate since I was injured on their property. A day later I got a text stating that they would not provide information regarding their insurer - the SC Consumer Affairs Dept advised that my only recourse would be a potential small claims suit for the damages. The cost of the repair is less than my insurance deductible and a claim would only injure my premiums moving forward which is the only way that I as a consumer can force an insurance investigation and potentially subrogate against their insurer. This is clearly a part of their business model. This is an unethical business that does not care about their customer base from the highest levels down. read more

First thing I like they clean your windshield, The front and back with heavy brush. It helps so much after a long trip, Remove all bugs, or their smash! The process takes about three minutes. Wash, glaze and dry you good to go! Or use free vacuum, no limits! Dry car with towels till it glows! The second thing-is floor mat cleaning. You can use their shampoo machine! Need better clean windshields and mirrors, Use windows spray again for free! I come with baby, he gets treat. Small thing, but very pleasant! It's good car wash, there are no tricks! Wash Wizard is on Hwy 17 in Mt Pleasant. It's a state of the art car wash where you sit in the car as it is pulled through and washed. Kind of like a thrill ride at a theme park without having to leave Charleston, and you get a clean car out of it, hehe. There are workers, but you pay at a kiosk when you select your wash. I had a Groupon, and there were clear instructions on how to use it on the kiosk- really nice that they did that so I didn't have to grab a worker. Not the cheapest car wash, but the wash is good and they run specials. They also have dog treats and kid treats for your babies or fur babies. Only issue was the vacuum I tried didn't work, so I had to pull into another vacuum space, not that big of a deal. Don't try to make a left onto 17 getting out either (not happenin'). read more

When I roll my hooptie through the Wash Wizard I like to put on some disco to go with all the flashing bright colored lights that cause me to have flashbacks. No seriously the Wash Wizard is on top of the game. I love taking my car here for a quick wash and the free vacuums at the end. The prices are a bit high, but this is Mt. Pleasant; and come on they give you free vacuums and window cleaner after your wash. $10 isn't all that bad for a wash and tire shine; together with the happy ending of free suction and clear windows. Went to zips this afternoon. The machine where I paid would not give me a receipt, and a woman was there so I asked her if she could get me a receipt. She said she would ask her colleague. The first set of vacuums that I went to we're not working, and I went to ask her if I needed to turn on the switch. She told me I needed to move my car up to the next set of vacuums. When I finished vacuuming my car I went inside and asked her again about the receipt. There was someone else in there as well, and she said could I please come back because she couldn't stop what she was doing right now (she was the one who asked me if she could help me, I didn't interrupt her to ask). I told her that I had told her earlier that I need a receipt and she was going to ask about it, but she told me I'd have to come back, she was the only one there and was too busy. I don't know if she is a manager, or just an hourly employee, but there are other similar car washes in Mount Pleasant that I will take my business to from now on. read more

I was sold a membership with the understanding it was a one time fee. Every time I cam through I payed full price. I found out over a year later Zips was auto-deducting $35 per month. As soon as I noticed (and shame on me for not catching if quicker, I contacted the company). They sent me an email saying they were investigating. I followed up about 5 times with nothing more than an automated response. I tried to call many times before I ever getting through. Apparently this is a common complaint. This car wash is just minutes from my home, and I don't know why it took me until January 2018 to try this place, but I.LIKE.IT. From the tires being scrubbed by employees, to the fun colored lights through the suds on the windshield (I felt like a kid again) while the car was going through the wash, and the self-service free vacuuming - what a quick way to get a clean car. I liked that they also gave me the packaged wipe (think about those hands wipes you get when you go to a rib joint--just larger) for the interior hard surfaces. Just had the worst experience at Zips Car Wash. At the risk of just sounding like a complainer . . . Because it was so bad, I would like to ask that each of the readers of this choose any other car wash but this one from now on. When I got into the car wash, the young man only sprayed "bug clean" on my truck, and did not brush it like they usually do. I found this odd, as I did not remember paying for the bug clean. Car wash seemed normal. When I got to the vacuums, I tried the air compressors (used to blow crumbs/dirt out of tight spaces), and none of them worked. I went in to the store and asked the young man to please turn them on. He looked like he was heading to do so. When I got back outside, I then noticed there were no clean towels for doing the windows. So I went back in to ask if they had any. This is where it went WAY wrong. When I asked for clean towels, the employee told me, "The towels are in the dryer." I said, "Okay, do you have something else I can use in the meantime?" (I was thinking about this from a business owner's point of view. You know, do what you can to take care of the customer? I don't know dude, maybe go get some paper towels or napkins . . . something.) Nope. He answered again, in a smart-aleck tone, "The towels are in the dryer." I walked out, thinking I would just leave . . . and then I thought, no, I paid for a service I did not receive. I went back in to get my money back. It gets even better . . . I simply stated, assertively, that I did not get my money's worth, and wished to get a refund. Here was the conversation from there: Zips Employee: "Did anything go wrong within the car wash? Me: "Not IN the car wash, but the young man did not scrub the front/back like usual." Zips Employee: "We don't have brushes out there." Me: (Dumbfounded this was his response) "Well, I also could not use the air, nor did you have any clean towels for me to use. I did not get what I paid for, so I would like my money back." Zips Employee: "You know this is a CAR WASH, right? Everything else is just extra." (WHAT????? You have to be kidding me, right? Did you really just say that???) Me: "That makes no sense, so let me ask you one more time, to be clear: You are NOT going to refund my money due to poor service?" Zips Employee: "No." Me: "This is the last time I will ever come here, and I will do my level best to tell everyone I know about how poor the service in this place is." Honestly, as I typed the words, I still cannot believe how awful these employees were to me and another gentleman standing with me. They obviously could not care less if they stay in business or not. We have been loyal, monthly Wash Wizard subscribers since it opened in Mt Pleasant (2013?) and highly recommended this business to family and friends. Since changing to ZIPS, service has deteriorated: the wash is hit and miss, the vacuums don't work well, carts not stocked or placed conveniently to customers, only one convenient for employees. Another customer asked me today if you have to bring your own supplies. Sad to see a business go down so sharply. Not worth it. I will wash my own car. No need to state you will get with your local team, as many reviews show, this doesn't seem to work either. read more
