About to cancel my monthly membership. As others have mentioned, they close at random times. I went the other day, and their rinse cycle was not working, so I wound up with soapy residue all over my vehicle. It looked worse than when I came in...couldn't even see out of my windshield. Went to wash my car 30 minutes before closing which understand is cutting it close but $15 for a wash and the vacuums weren't on, asked the worker if he could turn the vacuums on and he said he just turned them off and continued about his closing duties during what is supposed to be regular operating hours. Took our 2023 Lexus SUV thru on 3/20/24. Not gonna lie it was dirty. Paid over $20 for a wash that wasn't worth $2. Wash didn't even rinse all the soap off the back. 5 minutes ago BEWARE... CHECK YOUR BANK STATEMENTS!! They over-charged my account 3 times. To make up for it, they gave me 2 months free. The 2nd time this past December, they charged me $35 instead of $25 so I insisted they refund the $10 over charge and to make it up to me, they put me on this promotion: BASIC PLUS $15 Effective: 01/05/2024 - 04/04/2024 After that, it goes to $25 a month. Imagine my surprise to find a pending charge last night for $45! I emailed customer support last night. No response, so at noon CST, I called and the agent wanted to offer me a month free and said i had to wait for approval for the $30 refund. While waiting on hold for almost 20 min, I read another yelp review where zips refused to give a refund to someone who had canceled but she hadn't noticed they continued to charge her card for 6 months ($210!!) so i asked to speak to a supervisor. Waited about 30 min to speak to a supervisor. She refused to cancel the Pending charge of $45 and correctly bill $15. She blamed the system. The system felt i should not have the promotion they offered (in writing by email) so the system decided to add $30 to my February bill. Absolutely Ridiculous...No more chances and I reported the fraud to my bank and provided the email so they can cancel the charge. In response to my cancelation email, zips customer support said the cancelation would take effect next month... since my bank is going to cancel the charge, i consider my account canceled. IT IS FRAUD when they seem to consistently over charge. read more

I love my membership at zips it saves me so much money. The wash is a good quality wash and a free vacuum service at that. They used to have both glass cleaner and tire shine and unlimited towels that you can use to dry and take care of your car after getting a wash. But now the towels are never available unless you waive down someone and ask them to bring them out. The tire shine has been out for over a month. One employee told me that the guy who does it is too lazy to fill them up. The membership it's the best way to save money but the perks are not consists and have declined. I also have to ask them to clean my tires with the brush which would be a standard at most places. I don't think I should have to ask for that it should be part of the service. Most of the staff are happy to do so but one young lady a while back with pink short hair was grouchy and had an attitude. read more

Even the workers when I say the workers all of them are fed up with corporate and say they are sick and tired of having to lie and smile to customers when they know that the car wash in their words, said it was a piece of shit. Please be advised that this car wash is terrible. There's trash all over the rags so when you wipe your car off, it will scratch your car. I visited Zip's car wash about a month ago. I went for one wash. The tech standing at the point of sale machine told me I could pay for one wash ($10) and come back any time that month. I asked if it would automatically renew as I wouldn't be keeping that vehicle. He said that he would set it up to cancel immediately, but it was still available for the rest of the month. I was surprised to see a $35 charge today in my bank account. Customer service refused to refund stating all sales are final. I asked to file a complaint with their corporation, no further action was taken. Buyer beware when you do business with Zip's Carwash. You're better off going to Club Carwash. Their onsite employees are competent and the company is honest. read more

Zips Car Wash does a decent job for the price of $7. I don't recommend paying $3 for the tire wet, you are better off buying tire wet spray and doing it yourself. The car wash is pretty quick and I like that there is a pavilion to vacuum your car. The car wash doesn't fully dry your car so make sure to bring some micro fiber towels to dry it under the pavilion. The vacuums are convenient and managed to get some sand/dirt that was in my car. I'm glad I was told about this place, I will be back. read more

I am never able to use my membership. Always closed early. Then I noticed today they increased my membership with no notification. They make it very difficult to cancel membership. Cheap car was for a cheap wash. Half of my truck (Chevy Colorado) wasn't even washed. The entire back was untouched and still dirty and now I can see the dirt lines on where the wash stopped cleaning on the bed. I wouldn't recommend. read more

I bought a zips car wash plan for a month and the worker there told me my card wouldn't be charged anytime after the month, but three months later I still continue to be charged. I called the Zips Car Wash hotline and the lady said their servers are "down" so it seems like a scam I can't get out of. I wish I could give them no stars for basically stealing my money for months but the lowest I can do is one star. Decent carwash for the price. The basic price for just a wash, dry and use of the vacuum is 7 bucks. The wash is decent. Afterwards you do have to check some areas and wipe them down because the machines dont get everything. But for 7 dollars if your in a rush it ain't bad wash job. I plan to go back. The vacuums are self service. The vacuum suction is not very strong but it gets the job done. Since it's a drive thru car wash and self service vaccum you don't have to tip anyone. For 7 bucks it's a great value. For 15 a month you can get unlimited washes. There are also upgraded packages for more $ if you want wax, tire shine etc.. read more

Customer service was great when I first got my membership, friendly service always greeting with a smile. I don't what has happened or if this location just hires a bunch of kids, but this service since the younger people have started has gone down immediately. They pre spray whatever car they'd like the young ones are always rude and it's just an off putting feeling now. Decent car wash for the price and gets the job done, I like the hours 8am-8pm. And the staff is very nice ! The only thing that upset me just a little bit was the fact that the self service vacuums are not strong at all and could barley pick up a bit of dirt that was in my car. I prefer that the vacuum power be stronger so I could actually clean the interior of my car. But that also is a personal preference of mine. Half the time they have cones out where they are temporarily closed and their water sprayer isn't working "apparently" unless they're being lazy and really don't want to rinse the front and back of your car. Most of the employee's don't have the best customer service and aren't friendly. Will definitely be going to another car wash. read more

They aren't open when they are supposed to be open, they don't provide the same level of service, consistently and they don't communicate with customers on fee changes, downtime, or service levels! I had a minor incident at the Bandera zips location. I filled out the required form with the expectation (as the form states) that someone would be in contact with me within 10 days. It has now been two and a half months, 3 separate service tickets on their website, and 3 personal stops in which I discussed this with local managers WITH NO CONTACT by ANYONE. I have been basically told by managers at their location that I'm **** out of luck, not their problem. Even after going above and beyond on my part, Zips obviously has no care for customer service and plans on continuing to give me the run around. I purchased the monthly ultimate package at first it was great then the big sprayer quit working then noticed no tire shine and the staff service went down and it seemed to happen when the Hispanic lady manager left. I would tip when the did their jobs, even the wash itself cleaning job has gone down missing areas I had to roll thru twice to get a decent wash now. And when I emailed the customer service it took almost two months for response I finally cancelled my membership oh yeah and God forbid the cleaned the vacuum heads I actually brought a wire hanger to clear them before use the new staff sucks except for the older gentlemen who actually takes pride in his work read more

Just encountered the rudest person as I attempted to get my car washed. He had earbuds in and asked me to repeat myself 3 times. I said that would just make the selections on the screen. As i started making selections, he again asked what wash i wanted and whether i was saying anything. I just stared bc I couldn't figure out what was going on. The wash itself did what it was suppose to but the tire shine is the reason for the one star review. When I got home from the wash 5 minutes later, I went to hit the car with some Quick Detailer to clean off the water spots from the wash. Upon wiping off the sides of the car, I noticed long black streaks of something that was kicked off of the tire and all over the sides of the car. Come to find out it was the tire shine that was CAKED on from the car wash and ended up covering my car...... after 20 minutes of Quick Detailer and 4 microfiber towels later, the tire shine would not completely come off of the sides of my car. It's hard to see in my pictures, but faint streaks of the greasy tire shine remains after carefully wiping away as much as I could. And for $12, not only will I give this place a 1 star review, but I will also NEVER go there again, nor recommend anyone goes there. Update: Spent an additional 30 minutes the next day and the oily grease from the tire shine finally wiped off completely. read more

Went to get a car wash, the attendant tried to talk me into membership but failed to let me know the tire shine as not working and let me pay for wash with tire shine. after going through the wash I saw the tire shine was not working because my tires were not shined, I noticed another attendant was shining the tires of the car next to me and he let me know yes the tire shine is not working they were going to shine the tires. This place sucks! This car wash is the worst car wash I've ever paid for...and on top of that, it's more expensive! They have very few brushes that actually hug the vehicle. I end up having to clean about 10% of the car because the brushes are so weak they bounce off the car like leaves in the wind. The "spot free" water leaves so much residue. The big wash is extra when every other Carwash offers it free. There is no Pre-scrub area which is offered at every other car wash. They don't offer towels to dry the vehicle like at other car washes, the technology is very lacking here and it's very difficult to navigate the Carwash the way they built it. Just a poorly designed and run Carwash. I wish I didn't have to come here, but there are no other options in the city. Don't come here. You'll waste your money. Go to the BeClean on Dezavala/10. I've used this car wash many times over the years. My problem is with their employee, Carmelo and the self serve kiosks. They seem to want to strong arm you at the kiosk by keying in your car wash for you. The last time we allowed this to be done for us, we ended up being charged for an annual membership without our knowledge. Zip Corp was contacted but they just ignored us so we ended up paying for 12 months of service we didn't use. Instead we continued to pay each time we used the service on top of this charge. Yesterday we went through to get my car washed and Carmelo (says he's the manager), stood at the kiosks. My husband told him he'd prefer to work the pad himself as we had a bad experience of being charged for something we didn't want the last time someone else keyed our payment in for us there. Carmelo said he had to do and would get in trouble if he was seen not doing it. We asked for the manger and he said he was the manager which didn't make sense. We questioned that by asking if you're the manager, who are you gonna get in trouble with? He insisted he do it and my husband didn't feel comfortable turning over the process to him. and said ok, we will just leave. By this time, the second drive up kiosk had a gentlemen at it who was operating that kiosk on his own. Carmelo stood in front of our car blocking us from moving forward and cars were coming up behind us. I got out and told him, he needed to open the gate and let us exit through the emergency exit as there were cars stacking up behind us. He said it was our own fault and accused me of getting in his face. He's a 20 year old man and I'm a 62 year old woman. Really? I'm going get in his face? He said he would get the cars to move but took his sweet time as cars continued to pile up. My husband expressed his concern about us having to turn around in a one way lane while cars were being diverted to make room for us. He said, "I don't give a sh--". Meanwhile, we are doing a 8 point turn to work our way out of the oncoming traffic. Why have self serve kiosks if you won't let the customer use them? Carmelo must have never been in a position of responsibility as he was on a power trip over control of a kiosk. Are they intentionally over charging? Check your bank statements people. Don't let it happen to you. We will drive another 3 miles down the road to wash our vehicles from now on. Won't be back!! read more
