GreenWood Forest Park is a rather unlikely find in the North Wales countryside. It's an eco-theme…read morepark which tries to show that you can have fun without using much power (other than that which you provide yourself). It's NOT a park that pushes the green message at you at every opportunity and this I like. It's that fact that it's understated that makes you think about it. Home to Europe's largest Green roller coaster this place is well worth a visit. The coaster itself works alomg similar principles to the mines, power is generated by people being carried down as the coaster is lifted back up to the start. The coaster then runs down and the next group of people can be taken. Other self-powered rides include a boat ride (where you paddle/pull yourself along with ropes) and a great toboggan run. The other major attraction is the bare-foot walk where you can get back to nature via a barefoot walk through various types of ground including sand, cobbles, mud, water and straw. Immense fun and strangely refreshing. Wash facilities are provided (cold!). Toilets are clean and there is a cafe offering good value basic meals. Wait times were not too bad. I liked the fact that this was a simple park and suited to children from toddlers to about 13 years old. I suspect the optimum age range is about 3-8 years. Unlike the traditional theme parkes queues are minimal (no more than a 2 minute wait for anything) despite our visit being on a May bank Holiday weekend in bright sunshine! Please note - do as the website suggests and if you are using a sat nav start to ignore it when you see the brown tourist signs - if you don't then you end up going through some very steep and narrow roads that are not suited to tourist traffic. It will take about 5 minutes more if you follow the tourist signs but you'll get there in one piece! Recommended.

All safety equipment is provided and staff are on hand to make sure that everything is OK. Ropeworks is basically a variety of aerial challenges from death-slides to abseiling, high ropes to monkey bars. There's no theming here and, to be honest, it's a bit of a disappointment. If you've ever done a go Ape! course then this will seem like a very poor relation. It's simply not big enough and you can't escape the feeling that it's just a bunch of telegraph poles and towers situated next to a kiddie park. Probably best suited to younger teens and those who have a bit of a fear of heights - people for whom Go Ape! would be too much!

I took my sister to the Ropeworks a little while ago as a challenge for the both of us. They…read morebasically have a whole lot of telegraph poles with arial challenges. When you arrive you are given all the safety equipment and shown how to put it on. This includes harnesses, hard hats and so on. They reccommend that you wear jeans, and not shorts. You are in a group of about half a dozen people with an instructor who guides you round the course. The first challenge we did was to climb a telegraph pole, which had hand/feet holds up the sides. Your harness is clipped on and whilst you could loose your footing you can't actually fall! On the top was a small platform, maybe two feet square. Once standing on the platform (admiring the stunning view of the mountains and sea if you're not too scared to look down!), there is a trapeze bar, this slides so that it is just out of reach and you have to jump off the platform to grab the trapeze. I missed but still felt a great sense of achievement. You are then lowered down in the harness, which is a lot more comfortable than it looks. Then we had a go on the G3 swing. This is similar to a normal kids swing at the park, except that 3 of you sit on it side by side, and your harness is clipped on. Then it's raised up to the top of the telegraph pole height, and one of you pulls a cord which allows it to swing. It's a huge adrenaline rush and a little sad when it finally comes to rest a the bottom. Finally we went up the climbing wall, to have a go at the assault course in the air. This is where I chickened out. Looking back, with a bit more encouragement from the instructor I could have done the course and felt much more of a sense of achievement. You walk round on ropes, swing across monkey bars and similar in a circle, then its down on a death slide. Back down on the ground we all received certificates to mark our achievements. The instructor was very friendly and soon built up a team spirit within our little group. I understand that the course is available for companies doing team building exercises, schools and more. At £20 for two hours it is more expensive than other tourist attractions but well worth this for the safety, expertise and sense of achievement. There isn't a souvenier shop and I don't thnk that they are open in the evenings.

All the animals looked very well cared for and happy, there was plenty of room for them to roam within their enclosures. Just turn up, hand over your cash, and they'll kit you out in overalls, safety gear, and give you the gen on the rules. The karts aren't dodgems, so don't take the ** or they will stop you from driving, the fun isn't smashing into your mates, it's racing them and those karts are pretty nippy! If there's a big group of you, it might be worth ringing in advance to save disappointment, but you can just drop in and try your luck on the off chance if you prefer. It seems a little pricey, working out at about £1 per person per minute racing, but if there's a group of you, and you go for a grand prix in stages etc you get a decent day out for your money (split between racing and spectating).

It's not great as there isn't all that much there, there's the dodgems, a ghost train, a slide and some smaller rides for younger kids. What it is though is very reasonably priced, with the smaller rides starting a 50p a go and the dodgems at £2 a car, however as the cars are two seaters that's £1 a person. It was very quiet when we were there so when the kids went on the dodgems they were the only car so they had no one to bump into, probably for the best! We had a fun, and not too expensive, half hour of entertainment.

Formally 'Ty coch farm', we rang them on Tuesday and managed to book 3 places for the next day!…read more(which we later found out was amazingly lucky because basically the whole of August was booked up by mid June!) We were told that the sat nav wouldnt know the way so they gave us directions - we didnt get lost, so good directions! When we pulled up we were greeted by a tiny 6 year old girl who was covered in mud, she told us where to go and who we needed to talk to. We each filled out a form with our details (at the bottom of the form theres a tick list, and you just tick all the things you want to do on your ridewalking, trotting, jumping etc.) after that a lady sorted us all out with helmets and we watched a little demo of how to get on and off while we waited for our horses to come out. My sisters horse came out first, tall and white, male, called Paddy. He's 33 years old. Next was my horse, female, called Maisy, and she's a beautiful dark brown! I dont remember what my mums horse is called, but thats because I didnt see them for more than half an hour in a half day of riding! My horse was so keen to stay right at the front and my mums horse was happy to just plod along and stop to eat any greenery any chance it got! The ride was amazing, the weather wasnt the best so we couldnt see the tops of the mountains but the views were still brilliant. The lady that joined us on the ride (oops! Ive forgotten her name too!) she was lovely too. Really friendly and chatty. She told us all about our horses, aparently they have been used as extra's in films and TV productions (most recently in some BBC programme about Queen Elizabeth). I'd highly recommend this place to anybody who fancies a horse ride. They cater for everybody! From a total novice to experienced riders they will have a suitable horse, a friendly intructor and the appropriate trails and tracks for you to follow.

Discovered this place when the kids were really young. We were camping nearby and it wasn't very…read morenice weather and we'd heard there was a play area in the church but did not expect anything like this. There are three levels of slides, vertical drops, bridges, ball pits etc. I don't know the history of the place, maybe they did this as it was the only way to save the church or something but it's great that they did as it's wonderful. There is a little seperate area for the toddlers and a nice little cafe for the chatting mums - altough it's not church prices! They can get very busy so be prepared to have to wait and I seem to remember it wasn't cheap to get in either. We loved it though and i'd like to go back now the kids are older.

It been done up in an old church in the center of caernarfon. They've got a seperate area for toddlers and babies, which I find great a the bigger children can get a bit boysters. They serve food and also cater for childrens parties. The main play gym is a structure of soft climbing frames, two giant slide and ball pool, the kids always love going there. The only downside in my opinion is they charge adult to go in aswell.
