We came to Zephyr Bar after dinner, and what a cool find! The space isn't big, but once you're seated inside it feels cozy and intimate, with a great vibe and glowing lit tables. I ordered the Mahogany Brown and absolutely loved it, the caramel rim was the perfect touch, almost like having a little dessert after dinner. I also tried my friends' cocktails, and each one was unique, creative, and perfectly balanced. One even arrived in a Chinese takeout box with a fortune cookie, which was such a fun surprise! Really awesome bar in Munich away from all the touristy areas. The drinks were incredible I've never had anything like them. The main bartender/owner made everything by himself but he was super quick and was able to make drinks for everyone. It got pretty crowded too as the night progressed on a Thursday. read more

Wow. This is an incredible bar. I would say this on par with Hand Shake in Mexico City. Lucas was our bartender and suspect maybe the owner. We had 6 cocktails and 2 mocktails with our group (one non-drinker). He nailed everything! The complexity of the cocktails and the creativity was a solid 10. I could smell the fresh basil, mint, rosemary...watching him pour I would say 45 cocktails in an hour. The place was busy and work the wait! He has his regulars as I inquired what he was making. As a visitor from California, I really enjoyed going to this bar. The drink I had was very unique and flavorful. I'm familiar with the use of the ingredient Ube in food and drinks, but usually the flavor is too heavy for me. However, at this bar, the bartender crafted an amazing, refreshing drink with the use of Ube! Also the foam/whipped cream part was not too heavy either. Highly recommend. Friendly service. read more

If I could give Zephyr 10 out of 5 stars I would. Legit some of the best cocktails I've ever had (and I've had a lot of cocktails). My boyfriend and I got to Zephyr around 8:30 on a Friday and every seat was already taken. This place is tiny, and popular. Eventually we were able to grab one bar seat (while my boyfriend stood next to me). By the time we left, this tiny bar was so packed there were at least two rows of people standing in the 5 foot space behind the bar. Honestly, it was a bit claustrophobic -- but worth it. We had four drinks, and each one was better than the last. Sitting at the bar, I got to see some real effort going into cocktail making and presentation. Usually pretty cocktails lack substance, but these drinks were both delicious and interesting to look at. Some were served in Chinese containers. Others had a croissant on top. We got two drinks off the menu. But, Twice, we asked the bartender to make us a drink, and each time he absolutely hit the nail on the head. My final drink -- some sort of Smokey grapefruit concoction felt like The bartender pulled my ideal drink out of my head and brought it to life. The service was also excellent. Even though the bar was packed, I never had to wait too long for a drink. And the bartenders were so kind about offering recs, and didn't scorn me for only speaking English. When I saw one person order a popcorn cocktail I asked if I could too. Although he was out of popcorn, he made just a little bit extra and gave me a shot glass worth of the drink to try (amazing -- no wonder he won a cocktail competition with it). And, the clincher was my dumb ass forgot my wallet (which is particularly terrifying as a tourist). I sent them an instagram message the next morning when I realized. When they opened again the next night I went back. Although the bar was packed, they handed me my wallet the second I walked in. Most bars would have taken the cash out and called it a dumb tourist tax (justified) and claimed some bar patron took it. But nope, everything was there and I was extremely grateful. If you visit Munich, do yourself a favor and visit this bar. It opens at 8, and If you want a seat, that would be a great time to go. read more

Truly enjoyed this place! Top shelf drinks with top quality service. All four of us (two Americans, two Australians) loved our time there. The friendly servers were all about custom-making drinks too, all of which turned out exceptionally well. Of what I remember, and after the night we had the fact that I can recall any of them is a minor miracle, we particularly enjoyed the: - Bel-Air - Fitzgerald - Last Word - Paper Plane - Custom drink with mezcal, apricot, and more - Nightly special with dark rum, velvet falernum, lime juice, and pimento dram They even have a nice creative flair to their drinks - fresh, colorful garnishes for days! The only downside is that it's small. There's not much room or seating so you might be cramped and/or standing for a while. Still, we got seats after about 20 minutes so it wasn't too bad. Two words: COMPLETELY BLOWN AWAY! I was visiting Germany with some new work friends and I didn't know they were cool. See, I wrongly assumed they were nerds. But they were actually hotshot heavyweights with a partaaay predilection (only disguised as nerds)! So, I reluctantly went to Zephyr Bar with them and was immediately enchanted by the ambiance. Perhaps what pleased me the most was the excellent service and friendly staff. I will 100%, absolutely, unequivocally be returning here with this wacky packy. One of my favourite cokctail bar: the creative Zephyr! This little bar next to Fraunhoferstraße doesn't really look like it at first glance. But be careful as for many places in Munich the front door does not always reflect the jewel inside. And this bar is one of those : the cocktails on the menu are created by the house, renewed regularly and are always served with fresh ingredients (what a nice smell!). Great attention to details is always given to each drink that let's you forgive the waiting time when it gets crowed (quite often). The bartenders are also very friendly, and helpful when you don't know what you want. I can concede that the decor is minimalistic but you go there for drinks...right?! My advice: Don't hesitate to ask for some advice at the bar. I have never been disappointed by any of the cocktails I've chosen, so make it a shot in the dark, if you will! read more

4.5 stars. I deducted -0.5 star only because of the high prices of the cocktails (average between 9-11 EUR/drink and yes, I know one pays for quality...). That's my only gripe. Moving onto the raves... Zephyr is a simple bar (minimalistic decor--some stools, lit tables, and fair amount of open space) with complex cocktails. I ordered "Little Miss Sunshine" -- Ketel One Vodka, raspberry schnapps (Himbeergeist), Jasmine blossoms, raspberry puree, and basil served in a mug. It was definitely an one-of-a-kind drink, and it was great! They are mainly known for their gin selection, so one can't go wrong going there for a simple G&T. The ambience is laidback. A customer was able to bring his dog inside the bar without problems, and the staff even gave a bowl of water for the dog. The patrons are a mixed bag, ranging from the hipsters to the ladies dressed to impress to simply friends getting together, yet everybody seemed to be enjoying themselves. Cocktails here are amazing!!! Probably best in munich. However I have only given 2 stars because of the following: 1. The decor is so bland and boring and really not practical. For such a "fancy" cocktail bar it just loses it's ambience as soon as U walk in. 2. Service is horrible. On a Friday night it was pretty busy and I had to wait 35 for my cocktail and a glass of water. For the second round we all just opted for beer so it would be quicker. Even then we had to wait a while. 3. Price - doesn't really match the service or the decor. As I said before cocktails are amazing but it's a shame about the ambience. 4. There are no coat racks, not many stools or chairs. Probably won't be visiting again. read more

My boyfriend and I visited Zephyr Bar on a busy Friday night. It was PACKED with people (Good sign for good business). We were able to find one bar stool at the end of the bar we set up camp there. As soon as we sat down, we were given drink menus and water. We decided to have the bartender recommend drinks for us, and he did not disappoint! Lukas (who we came to find out later is one of the owners), was very efficient with the amount of volume in the bar. We never had to wait long for a cocktail and Lukas absolutely nailed every drink suggestion! I wish I could leave an extra star because he placed a single rose that my boyfriend had gotten me, in a glass of water for the length of our stay! Bravo to Lukas and the guys at Zephyr bar. Hands down the BEST cocktails and hospitality we have ever had! Can't wait to visit again. read more

Pretty incredible little place in Munich! Visited with a friend and was astonished that there are bars that are so similar to Philadelphia speakeasys! The place itself was very cozy albeit slightly cramped - we were there on a weekend, so it's expected given how awesome the place truly was. We got two bar stools and ordered our drinks. They have an incredible shelf of liquors, some that I have never even heard of before. They also have a small garden of fruits and vegetables that they use in the cocktails they make. The bartenders knew exactly what they were doing, and quite honestly, it was so fun just sitting there and watching them work their magic. Would definitely come back - only reason the place didn't get a 5-star rating was because of the very expensive prices. I would honestly even rather tip at this place (though I know it's not common in Germany), rather than pay a flat rate so high. All in all though, a must-see when visiting Munich. read more
