5 stars for staff, 5 stars for setting and location. 3-ish for food.
This review is for both the Hibachi and the regular dining tables, and we ate here 2 nights.
This is located in the Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya, where we had a wonderfull all-inclusive stay.
Hibachi night was fine. There was plexi-glass all between the chef and the guests, and the chef was wearing both a mask and a shield. All the standard "tricks" in the hibachi "show" (juggling and spinning the utensils, etc), not perfect but totally fine and fun. Presumably since there were 2 separate parties at our table, the chef didnt have any of the guests come around to help cook or throw the rice like we saw at other tables. fine. The food was good and standard buttery hibachi fare, but small on portions when compared to the hibachi i've had in the US, and no side sauces. but chef was fun and server fine.
The next night we ate at one of the regular tables for Asian fusion. The food was ok, I had tuna sashimi, some octopus nigiri sushi, and the shrimp aguachili handroll (sounded unique). Average sushi but server was fine and again I like the setting of the place. Oh and i had Pad Thai which was fine too.
Again nothing over the top here but it's a nice place with good staff, and nothing bad at all. read more
