Just as a precursor: The rating is incredibly biased so I'm going to start this review off with objective criticism for those who are interested in this shop. Zen Living sells a lot of random home decoration products such as Buddha statues, cutlery, vases, etc. NOTES: ~ They do have a nice supply of good quality products with nice design. ~ The store is a bit cramped and constantly filled with people browsing. ~ Customer service is nice and respectful, but because of the amount of people it is a bit rushed. Objectively, Zen Living is a pretty nice tiny little shop that sells cute things to decorate your home with. So... why am I giving 1 star? Zen Living is based on Buddhism, with all sort of Buddhist merchandise everywhere - Buddha statues (both big and small) costing around 100 - 200 depending on what you get. Am I the only person who sees something wrong with this picture? I'm a practising Buddhist (just the philosophies and spirituality rather than the religious aspect) and a philosophy in which one of the major aspects is detachment from material objects probably shouldn't be capitalised upon. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind a bit of merchandise, product, and capitalism. But taking Buddha's face and slapping a 200 dollar price tag on it... is just... ugh. read more
