Now the negative - Should you receive an instrument that requires a return, the nightmare begins. I purchased a $3500 Collings guitar. When I requested information on the condition of the guitar, I was told "It's perfect. I hate perfect but it's perfect" - The guitar arrived and it was less than perfect. Dings, dents and scratches all over the guitar. The bridge was also replaced. I requested a return label for a full refund. The label arrived the next morning and the guitar was shipped back to them, arriving back to the store 24 hours later. I was told that they cannot refund credit card transactions (first red flag) and needed to send me a check. 2 weeks went by with no sign of a refund. I was then told a check was cut and I would be receiving it overnight. Another week went by with no sign of the refund. I sent a message stating that I would be filing a dispute if the tracking number was not provided. I never received the tracking, so a dispute was filed. Magically, the check was sent out 48 hours after the dispute was filed. Check arrived and to my surprise, the refund amount was $250 less than the purchase price. Though the guitar did not arrive as described, Sound Pure found it appropriate to hold back $250. Buyers beware - I have purchased over $20,000 in guitars from this store. I have requested assistance with solving this issue, but have not received a response. Please be aware that if you are not pleased with your order, this will most likely happen to you also. Most recently wanted some new thumb picks; sign on door said call for open hours. I left a message saying I could come by most anytime and to please let me know when someone would be there. It's a small purchase and I was trying to be accommodating. No one called me back. I didn't mention that I also wanted to talk about special ordering an upperline Deering banjo that would have gotten them a huge profit. As they didn't want to sell me the picks for it I assumed they wouldn't be interested in selling me the banjo. I had it shipped from the Sam Ash store in Las Vegas.

My son recently snapped his first ever epiphone at the neck clean in half. Never had I seen such destruction and much sobbing took place. Just out of curiosity I gave Marty a call, sent him a few pictures of the guitar and asked - what can ya do. We were asking him to resurrect a fairly new instrument, a service request we've never tried before. He said give him 3 weeks. In an almost surreal experience - Marty was able to completely repair the snapped neck, matched colors, parts needed to replace the damaged ones and a coating job that would rival what any manufacturer puts out. I will also say that his charge was LOW. Far far lower than I expected for such a mess of a job. He loved it. My son loved it. We are 100% recommending everyone we know - even for a simple setup - call Marty and enjoy not having to worry if your intonation is right cause you're not a luthier.

I honestly can't say enough positive things about Tim at Apex Guitar Rescue. I brought my…read moredaughter's guitar in with a dead pickup and a switch that seemed wired backwards, and told him I knew very little about guitars. With me watching, he opened up the electronics, with a small amount of space due to a PCB board making things tight. He tried moving things around and tried different things but nothing was happening. Then he noticed the switch itself was loose and pulled it out of the guitar and it started working. "I know what it is. The paint on the inside is actually conductive and when this thing got turned, it shorted against the inside. That's also why it seems like it is wired to the wrong side - the switch has turned a full 180." He aligned it back, tightened it up, and everything plays great with both pickups and the switch now aligns with where it should be depending on which pickup is active. Basically everything works great. Tim talked a bit about how the electrical connections can be sensitive, and quickly went over a bunch of other parts of the guitar and aligned, tightened, so many different parts explaining what he was doing along the way. I feel like I walked out with a new guitar, and yet he charged a really modest fee! Before bringing it to Tim, I went to another local shop. One he realized I was not interested in his (more expensive) services other than just fixing the pickup, he was dismissive about almost everything on the guitar and said it probably plays horrible without ever playing a note or even plugging a jack into it, and suggested I buy a new guitar for my daughter. Contrast that experience with Apex Guitar Rescue, where Tim was so honest, skilled, and respectful of my time and money, and even said our guitar is great. I can't imagine bringing my guitar anywhere else. (BTW, the big G has tons more reviews of Apex Guitar Rescue.)

He said he could fix it for $250 and said he would order parts. I said OK, and waited for him to call me back. I didn't hear back after a week, so I called him. He said he still hadn't ordered the parts and was going to do that right away. I waited another 2 weeks, then 3 weeks. Today is 4 weeks. Nothing but radio silence from Serg. It's clear that he's done nothing but take my money.
