My only polo experience prior to this was the Polo in the Park in Hurlingham Park during the summer in London, so this was quite interesting to experience in the opposite season on the frozen surface of Lake St. Moritz. Similar to last time, there was a Vueve Clicquot tent standing out with its bright orange color. I think free logo sunglasses came with each purchase of champagne. There were also other tents marketing various products such as luxury BMW vehicles and Nespresso coffee. I spied a mechanical rodeo horse from afar but did not approach to take a closer look. Contrary to what I expected for a posh area, I was surprised to find the food options quite reasonably priced ("reasonable" being akin to Zürich prices), with sausages at about CHF 8 and other meals slightly higher. I chose a lovely Engadiner sausage, as it was something new to me and local to the region. Juicy and delicious, it was slightly reminiscent of a Chinese sausage, albeit with different spices. The polo itself was quite exciting, with the action getting right up to the edge of the barriers. Although the temperatures were very chilly, it was quite pleasant when standing in the sunshine. In addition to the polo itself, the people-watching was also fantastic, with a plethora of amazing fur coats and cute doggies in tow. ;) I highly recommend this event if you are in St. Moritz, as the entrance is free and you can still get quite a good view of the action just standing on the side without paying for dedicated bleacher seating. The standing area is actually in FRONT of the bleachers. Something different and fun for the afternoon, especially if the sun is shining.
