Yes, this place is a bit of a tourist attraction, but the Lehar schnitten and the Zauner Törtchen were absolutely wonderful. It's a busy place and ordering is a bit chaotic, but it's worth it. They have some outdoor seating and indoor seating. It looked like you choose your sweet and pay, and then they bring your food to you. I got mine to go and they wrapped it nicely. They also seemed to have some open-faced sandwiches if you wanted a light lunch before indulging in the sweets. read more

Dined here on a rainy afternoon after taking the Katrin Cable Car up the mountain. Zauner is situated right along the river. The interior feels classically Parisian which is a perfect setting in this idilic Austrian town. There are more options than you could ever want and all are done perfectly. Zauner is the kind of place you fell in love with. So typical Austrian, lovely and full with sweet treasures! There are two of them, the biggest one in the old city and a smaller one along the river Taurn, on the Esplanade. They have so many desserts, chocolate, cakes, ice cream and drinks it makes it hard for you to order. And once you've tasted it, you will promise yourself you will be back someday! Sitting outside in the terrace along the river, enjoying some delicious ice cream preparation, was a very agreeable and wonderful moment. This place is old school and cool. Step in the doorway and you are instantly transported back a half-century or more. The decor is beautiful and the ambiance is 19th century elegant. Best of all...the pastries and sweets are still first rate. Zauner has been around since the early 1800s and was baking for royalty during the Austian-Hungarian Monarchy. Famous bakery the Kaiser used to frequent. A little bougie, but worth a visit. Quite full of tourists. Overpriced for what you get, but I suppose you're paying for the atmosphere and history as well. read more

Super delicious cakes, especially the Swiss roll cake. They used very nice ingredients to make the taste so different. I like it so much that want to go back the store to get some cakes. read more
