The WORST!!! I bought a pair of shoes for my daughter which were too big and she returned them a few days later with the gift receipt. They issued a gift card in return. I then returned to the store with said gift card and original VISA receipt in order to get a refund on my VISA. The cashier refused. The manager was then brought in and she said "we can't do that". Really?? Really??? I've worked in retail and there are always ways of doing things to ensure customer satisfaction. Needless to say I am totally pissed and Zara is the loser here. read more

Probably the worst customer service I have ever received.. I have been in here twice while visiting from out of town and the second visit was worse than the last visit shockingly enough. Super rude staff (both on till and in the womens' changing room). My sister and I were appalled. They snatch your clothes out of your hands, don't even say "Hi" or even look at you. You basically go into the store in a good mood and leave feeling completely different in the worst ways possible. Besides the dreadful service, the clothes are ok. Nothing crazy good but, good for if you want more affordable business casual clothes. read more

I passed by this place the other day while I was aimlessly walking around West Edmonton Mall the other day. There was something about the store that drew me in; it must have been the over-all neatness of the store or some of the cool clothes they had on the racks. I decided to venture in even though the place was above my style; meaning everything was really fancy and looked like it belonged in the "high-fashion" category. I saw some really nice simple black dresses at about $60, which is a really good price. Jeans, which I do wear, starting at $39...I really liked some of their styles and cuts. They had some great looking winter jackets on sale starting at $99 up to $130 (from what I saw). They had both long coats, up to about the knees and another style that was about hip length. They also had some really nice, long knitted scarfs for around $20. They had both a women's section and men's; but I was really surprised to see a baby section. So if you wanted to dress your kid in high fashion clothes then Zara is the place to do it. The staff was nice and helpful. I'm always worried about these people who work in "high-class" stores are snobs; you know like from the movie Pretty Woman. This was not the case at all. Sure the place and clothes looked high fashion and high-class but the prices were surprisingly not has high as I thought they would be. This is a beautiful thing; you can look like a million bucks without actually spending a million bucks! read more

Don't bother trying to get a refund for an item they double charged you for. They'll refuse you even if corporate has said to return to the store for a refund, and then call security on you. Despite it being their fault in the first place for double charging. Poor customer service all around. Also, as a plus-sized girl I have stopped shopping at Zara after hearing 2 sales associates talk "amongst" themselves while I was shopping, saying "What does she expect to find in here? An extra large? haha as if." read more

Wow was I ever surprised to learn there was a guy's section here. I always assumed it was women's clothing, however after one day of being dragged in here, I found their men's section at the back. They have 2 sections for men here: one for formal business wear, and another for everyday wear. Their everyday wear clothing seems to target people who like wearing skinny jeans with baggy graphic shirts, which is not really my style. Their formal dress wear is really nice though, and is reasonably priced. It's similar to the things you can find at Mexx- bold colors that will make you look the sharpest dressed in the room without being too outstanding. I like coming here now as the clothes definitely look high class, without having to pay for them as if they were high class- basically it looks like you paid a lot more than you really did for your clothes. read more

If that European style is the look you're going for, Zara should be your first stop. The selection of dresses here is excellent. Flirty dresses for weekend dates, great dresses for the office, and great tops and shoes, too. Sometimes things are a wee bit expensive here (like that shawl for $200 that I absolutely drooled over but never bought) but for the most part, things are reasonable. What I really like about Zara is that the pieces here last, both physically and fahion-ally. I have two day dresses that I've worn frequently since their purchase about 3 or 4 years ago. They're still super cute and there are no rips, tears, etc. I've found that the salespeople here aren't very forward, but if you do ask for help, they're very happy to help. read more

A lot of people aren't even aware that there is a guys section in Zara. It's no where near the size of the what it offers girls, it's about 1/3 or 1/4 of the store. In the mens section you will find formal wear and casual. They do offer up some great styles of clothes and you can usually find something here if you are looking to go casual. They do carry some good dressy clothes as well. The staff is always great. They go above and beyond their job description to try and accommodate you. If they don't have your size they will check at all other stores to find it. Zara's not exactly the first place to go but it is worth a look. read more

I like Zara, it's like Forever 21 (cheap, fashionable, slightly poor in quality) but kind of geared to a slightly older demographic. They have every item of clothes you could possibly want - business wear, evening, wear, graphic tees, jeans, but you'll have to dig around. There's a lot of clothes, making it easy to miss something good. Not the greatest selection of sizes, but it depends on your luck I guess. On another note, I love the store itself. What I want my house to look like, but totally impractical - white, shiny, and bright. read more

I used to shop at Zara all the time and for the most part I still do because their clothing is moderately priced and not terrible. However, this past shopping experience made me never want to come back. I have never experienced worst customer service, the girl at the check out took my item from me without looking me in the eye or being polite in anyway. As well as staring at me in a very judgmental way, looking at her friend then laughing. I'm not sure if I read to much into it or whatever it may be but I still believe if you have a job in customer service... you should maybe be nice to the customers? I'm generally not one to complain about customer service in retail stores, I get that it's a thankless job for the most part. I'm not really that bothered if i'm not greeted right away, or if I'm asked if I need help. But honestly, this store has the most miserable looking employees I've ever encountered. One surly looking woman in the fitting room who basically glared at me and said nothing as I exited. No smiles, nothing in the way of greeting or even acknowledging my presence when i went to pay. The girl stared straight at me without any saying a word in my direction. I don't think i've ever felt less welcomed in a store. I don't shop at Zara often but i for sure won't be coming back to this location. read more

Five people waiting in line at Zara in West Edmonton Mall...ONE cashier. The first woman in line is doing a return, so the cashier has to call the Manager to help do the return while the rest of us in line simply wait?! I waited several minutes before asking the manager if she could maybe open another till. She replied that there was no other cashier, and stood there while the return was being done. Is this for real!? The MANAGER stood doing nothing while we waited and waited?! God forbid that SHE should open the till beside, as the manager u would hope she knows how to work it? I've never seen such a useless terrible "manager" in my life. Terrible customer service! read more

I was in the West Edomonton mall this week. I was pleasantly suprised by the inventory & prices of the garments. I just couldn't get past the unfriendly staff. They stood around talking. I made my way around that entire store , if I was only a secret shopper for corporate headquarters they would be slain. I had money to spend but I wasn't about to open my wallet there!! read more

It confuses me how people can leave such high ratings. I am positive I've never been to a store with such low customer service. Stitches sell clothes for 5 bucks and their service is MUCH better. I work at Rw&co so it baffles me how big the differences are. First of all, every time I'm waiting for the cash, it makes me wonder what kind of employees they look for or if they even train them other than to look at every customer like they're thieves. At my work place, we are trained to have big smiles, greet your customers, start fitting rooms for them, and do everything we can to satisfy them. Zara does the exact opposite. I have never seen any of the employees at cash smile, EVER, you'd be lucky if they even spoke to you. Never once have I been greeted either. I'm genuinely curious if they train their employees to look annoyed and bored, would surprise me if they did. Today I was carrying bags of stuff and asked if I could put them down behind the til & an employee replied "yea you can but no ones going to watch it"; its weird to me consider they'll literally be a foot step away from the bags & its really the simplest form of customer service, i mean, we offer it at Rw. Management there is weak too, obviously. There was once girl that pretty much did everything around the store, I'm guessing shes the team leader or assistant manager so good on her, the main manager her self had poor attitude. If customer service isn't a problem for you, then it'll be your favorite store; however, if it does matter, don't waste your time. read more

Went on a fri mid afternoon. Although impressed now w/ the new renovations I have to say that customer service was disappointing - cashier is extremely inefficient. Long line ups continue and for some reason there are 2 people per cashier machine (not sure why). I don't understand why you are not utilizing all 3 cashier machines. Waiting for 20 minutes is not cool, especially the long long line ups. I also noticed quite often that the cashiers are closed in the men's section every time I go in. Why build them if you're not going to use them. You should also cater to men, it's not just your women's clothe lines. The manager seems to notice this as we watch her while waiting - there must be a better system. 5 cashier machines in your store ... and you're only utilizing 2??!! Not cool. read more

I shop @ Zara WEM when they have their big sales (i.e. July-ish and today post Boxing). Over the years and since their last renovation, the Men's section has improved. But dude ... you have massive long line-ups at the cashiers. You close the Men's cashier every time I am there and we all have to line up with everyone else at your 5 person cashiers and still does not do service. Someone from upper management needs to do Undercover Boss at this location. With your massive clearout sales for both Men and Women ... your lineups are all the way to the Kids section, blocking traffic and now women can't fully shop around in their section. Again it happened today. We had to wait in line for 15 mins. A young mother in front of me with her baby in stroller was 4 away in waiting and had to remove herself through the stanchions because she couldn't stand the waiting. It's an eye-sore every time I look at it. Sure its busy but you perhaps better efficiency is needed. The Men's section was packed as usual but you only have 4 change rooms for us and we also had to wait in line. If your Men's cashier booths rarely is open for Men's service, tear it down completely then. It's a waste of space and another eye-sore. Give us more change rooms or add more decor and inventory like your Southgate Ed or Yorkdale Mall. What I've seen has been quite consistent during sale and non-sale events. Just saying.
