Well, summer is here, and Zana is hiring once again! Surprise, surprise!! I've worked here and it is an incredibly abusive atmosphere and I feel it is my duty to share my experience. If you want to put your heart and soul in for less than three months (only be used for summer and fired right before probationary period ends so that they don't have to compensate you), go ahead and apply. MAKE SURE they give you a copy of your contract. They never gave me mine, so I wasn't able to go to the labour board for wrongful termination. Also, don't ask for anything less than $17 an hour. Dinha tried to pay me only $15, when her own contract stated I was entitled to $17 an hour. She is very egotistical and cannot stand any simple questioning, as she feels challenged. All she cares about is that you're making her money, and she will treat you accordingly.
Her ad is a complete lie as there is absolutely no flexability. I got in trouble for needing to see a specialist on a work day, and almost wasn't allowed to go to my appointment. That was also when she informed me that I was not allowed to take ANY time off work for an entire year.
You are also not supplied with anything! You have to pay for 6 pairs of impliments out of your own pocket to be allowed to work.
There is also zero job security as I've mentioned it before, make sure you take photos of every page of that contract. Dinha has a pattern of hiring during summer and the holiday season when it is the busiest, and then right after it quiets down, she fires you. Of course right before your probationary period is over, because god forbid she has to compensate anyone. She is a user and an abuser. I was yelled at and called names in front of clients, and yes they noticed. A few of my clients were shocked at her lack of professionalism, some even called her the B word. When I was fired, (while the whole staff was still there listening) I was in tears, begging to keep my job, she called me a brat. She gets off on making others feel small, humiliating them, and snapping at them, even in front of clients and whatever audience is present.
At the end of the day, I didn't even intend to write this until I saw her new job posting. You ladies have a right to know exactly what is going on at Zana. I was hired on April 26th of 2022, and then fired two days before my probationary period ended. If that isn't proof enough, I don't know what is. Do not work here.
Copy and pasted because they're blocking my review of course! read more
