Mango Tikka Masala
Paul M.

I ordered the lamb vindaloo, and it was probably the best I've ever had. I was not able to get a photo because I ate it too fast. The picture I included was of the mango tiki masala my mom ordered, which was just as amazing. I also added a pic of the garlic naan, which was really great too. I placed the order, and the staff were super friendly. It was ready in about 25 minutes. I didn't dine in, so I can't say much about the service beyond a friendly phone call when I picked it up, but everyone seemed pretty nice. The vibe of the place looks pretty much like other Indian restaurants. I didn't eat there, so I can't say much about the atmosphere, but it looked comfy. The restaurant is about five minutes from my house, and I will definitely be back.

Was an Indian restaurant at this location before but this has new owners who have two other locations - one in Wilsonville and one in Portland. Ordered garlic naan, Chicken Biryani, Butter Masala, and Vindaloo. All were very good although the Vindaloo is very spicy, but I liked it. Clean and comfortable restaurant with attentive service. Will come back.

We love the food here. Kind of spicy so be mindful when ordering but oh so delicious! We always come early so seating is never an issue. Service is consistent and fast.

Karahi

We had the Karahi with Tofu, Methi Curry with Paneer, Garlic Naan, and Punjabi Batura. This is a decent restaurant. The downside is that their flavors are not as rich and complex as I have had elsewhere. There were no unpleasant tastes, but not as interesting as elsewhere. This is a big negative. This restaurant didn't serve some of my favorites (for example Palak Paneer), this is a negative and also a positive. On the downside, I didn't eat my favorite dish. On the upside, this prompted me to try some new stuff that I would not have tried otherwise. In fact, I would say that this restaurant has some interesting offerings not available elsewhere. This is clearly a positive for people with an adventurous spirit! One thing that we liked was that dishes in the "custom entrees" section can be ordered with any protein. This is nice for vegetarians and vegans. The menu's description of Karahi includes the word "Capsicum". I confused this with "capsaicin" and expected it to be spicy. It was not. The Karahi was decent, but not exciting. The vegetables aren't cooked as fully as we have seen in other Indian restaurants, so they still have some crunch. This is good or bad depending on your preferences. (I didn't prefer it this way) The methi and garlic naan was tasty. Nothing to remark on. The Punjabi batura is a fried bread. It was very tasty and I have not seen this elsewhere. We laughed at the restroom situation. The soap dispenser had come off the wall and was lying on its side on the counter. The restaurant provided a free-standing pump dispenser, but they left the nonfunctional wall-mounted dispenser sitting on the counter anyway. They noticed the nonfunctional soap dispenser, so why not get rid of it. The seating was very uncomfortable. They have some booths to the left of the door (as you enter), but the backs are so severely straight that they're uncomfortable. We ultimately moved to the other end of the room which has regular chairs, but the backs are mostly absent, so they're uncomfortable too. I think that the chairs aren't as bad as the booth seating.

I've been on tiffintok for a while on TikTok so that creator has really gotten me craving some Indian food. Just getting back from a music festival and wanting something nourishing and delicious. Zaiqa really hit the spot for one of the first curries we will have this fall. Their vindaloo has so many warm spices and paired with the lamb that was super tender and delicious. They said it was spicy but my tolerance is pretty high so you can be the judge on your own but it's definitely tasty. My husband had the tikka masala and it was really great. He makes it a bunch at home and I know when he makes it next time it's going to be even better because he can add in the notes that we really enjoyed here. Of course we had to enjoy it with their garlic naan which the waiter helped us decide the best tandoori bread to go with it. Such a nice and perfect meal. Definitely will come again and get some Mango Lassi too. (Side note - they're also on DoorDash and do a happy hour special so you can get a delivery discount too).

Onion Bhaji and Vegetable Samosa and Tamarind Sauce and Mint Chutney.

TLDR: slow service, reheated food, actually inedible pakora, overall very poor quality food. They 1000% need a better chef. Pros: gluten free and vegan options were super clearly labeled on the menu which is great. Plenty of gluten free, vegan, vegetarian, and omni options. Cons: the food and chai were awful. I am not a picky eater, if I can dip it in tamarind chutney I will eat it, but the onion pakora was absolutely inedible, it was bitter and almost tasted rancid. My husband's samosa was so hard he couldn't break through it to let the steam out. It had clearly all been made much earlier and reheated. The chai my husband had took 25 minutes to come out and was obviously some powdered mix with way too much milk and he decided it wasn't worth drinking. The service took a long time despite being a very slow day with only 3 tables. Also the music was horrible. I love most of the music from India that I have heard and this was just awful hip hop type Punjabi music according to my husband but it just was not the vibe. I would love to try this place again some day if they got a new chef or new recipes or ingredients but it was truly not edible food.

Food, service and ambience of this new Indian restaurant in Lake Oswego area is top notch. The family and I discovered it on our way home and decided to try it out for dinner. If you're a Indian cuisine person, this place is definitely worth the effort.

I'm not gonna question where the heck did my review go to but let me rewrite it again…read more Sultan the Flaming Tandoor is probably the best if not the only Indian Cuisine in the Sherwood area. The food is delicious and the flavors in their curries and other dishes are spectacular. My personal favorite is the Khorma (my memorable dish as my friend Akash would say) every time I could come and either order out or dine in. Akash is the tall guy that works there. Friendly and attentive he always asks how is the food and my response to him is always the same- Wonderful! Some of our other favorites are the Chicken Biryani (very generous portions dine in or takeout), the Korma, butter masala, goat masala and garlic cheese naan (yum)! I also love his they use reliable stainless steel bowls and cups for serving your food and drinks in.

We wanted to have a great source of high-quality and great tasting Indian food nearby. All expectations were high. The reviews were even good to support the expectations. We knew it would be pricey and had the proper expense expectations. Maybe it was an off night. Maybe it was a long weekend and the Sunday night crew was tired. Maybe the ingredient delivery is on Mondays. We ordered the classics - the butter chicken, the aloo palak, chicken tikka masala, etc. - dishes we've had hundreds of times from hundreds of other restaurants (and pubs) so we're very familiar with good, great, and mediocre. Each dish looked the part, but was severely lacking flavor, which is an incredibly surprising thing to say when describing Indian food. While this is indeed a very subjective judgment, the same opinion was shared by our whole table, and even when leftovers were sampled the day after with an opportunity to better infuse, the same judgment awarded. Where was the flavor? Where were the spices? We asked these questions for every dish received. Expectations shattered. As for other criteria, ambience was average for a strip mall dine in restaurant, and with only one waiter, there was significant delay when it got busy - especially with their takeout/delivery demand. So, our search continues for a local solution to satisfy our Indian food fix. Suggestions welcome!

I came with three friends for lunch; we all placed individual orders then took our numbers (on a small standup sign) back to our table to chat and enjoy the day. Soon food came for the two men in our party, and we women encouraged them to eat rather than wait on our food. So eat they did, and in another 10 or so minutes more food arrived, but not my order. After a short discussion we realized that my food had been given to one of the men, and he had eaten it; now the food he actually ordered arrived, leaving him with two meals and me with none. Our server seemed to think it was our fault that we got the wrong food, and brought me a roti to eat but never replaced my meal. I was not pleased to have spent $17.50 for a serving of roti, which wasn't exactly the lunch I had paid for. I think i wpuld have liked the food if I'd had a chance to eat what I ordered. it would be most appropriate for the restaurant to refund my money since, through no fault of my own, I did not receive the food I paid for. It was the server who mistakenly put my food down elsewhere, and my friend who ate it had no idea it wasn't his. Unfortunately there was not so much as an apology, and I won't be returning to Mirasata.

There's…read moredefinitely a part of me that misses pre-pandemic era when lunch buffets were common place and this place is only a few blocks from my office. I got there a little after 11:30. The sign said the buffet started at 11:30 but they weren't ready, so I had to wait a little bit. Not a big deal, especially when a place is trying something new. It gave me an opportunity to check out the space. Like a lot of Indian restaurants, it's a little over the top, with the decor pushing towards opulent but not in an overly stuffy way. The buffet was setup along the bar top, and it was clear they were still figuring it out. Instead of chafing dishes and sternos, they were using electric warming trays and setting out the cookware on top of them. Price wise, it's $20, which feels like the going rate these days (i.e. it's the same as Namaste). That being said, the smaller setup and the individually cooked items meant a way higher quality of food. There was a chicken curry, mushroom magic, a daal, chicken tikka, gulab jamun and a handful of other items including a fusion quesadilla with chicken and pieces of fried paneer. The curry was fine, nothing special. The daal (I think tadka?) was a little thinner than I prefer and a slightly over-seasoned, but was good even with the over seasoning. The mushroom magic was good, but the real spotlight was the chicken tikka. With everything being prepared in smaller batches than the stereotypical buffet, this was the moistest chicken tikka I ever had, and the texture and flavor far exceeded anything I would expect from a buffet. They did bring out fresh naan, but that felt like something they were doing since it was still new/slow, i.e. they had naan on the buffet line too. The only thing I would have liked would have beeen some achar, but I'm sure that puts me in a very small slice of potential customers. Definitely see myself coming back here, and ideally dragging along some of my coworkers. tl;dr; smaller buffet with incredible quality due
