I called and asked if there was a separate entrance and she yelled to someone that they forgot to open the doors. The area was quite a bit smaller than I expected. It was a single room with inflatables to hide behind. It wasn't really organized very well. The individual leading the games would ask everyone if they want to do rematches or play a different version of the game. Of course with different opinions I felt it would be best for the company to choose how the session is laid out. I believe the managers young daughter was joining the session and she walked out of the area a few times and they would ask if the speaker if she was coming back. The guns jammed a lot on the players which was getting frustrating for them. The kids had fun so that's what mattered but as the adult paying for everyone, I just felt it could have been much more organized. The individuals running the show were nice.

A couple friends of ours invited us along for a contra dance a couple Saturdays ago. Both my wife…read moreand I were complete newbies to this. I actually took a couple ballroom dancing classes back when we were dating. I was out to impress her with my smooth moves back then. Now we're married, and she knows I'm not usually so smooth. Anyway, the lesson got us on the right track and at 8 the dance began. Contra dance is called a social dance and we were told we should only dance with the person we came with once every three dances. So, its a great way to meet people you don't know and to let your space "bubble" be invaded by lots of strangers. It definitely had me out of my comfort zone. Despite that, it was so much fun for both of us. We learned a lot and laughed a lot. We were constantly forgetting a step here or reaching for the wrong hand in the middle of the dance. But, everyone was really friendly, helpful and patient, helping us have an excellent time. We will definitely be back. They meet at the Wyoming Fine Arts Center Mondays from 8-10 PM with a half hour lesson at 7:30. Those dances are $4. Oh, and children are welcome. There were a few kids between 10-15 who all knew way more than I did and wound up teaching me a lot. On the 2nd Saturday of each month there is a dance from 8-11:30 PM with the lesson beforehand. You do not have to stay the whole time. A lot of people dropped out and we had planned to come home around 10PM. We were just enjoying ourselves so much that we stayed for the entire evening. The Saturday night dance is $7 and around 10PM they took a break for fruit and desserts for about half an hour. They have live bands playing the dance music every night! No iPod plugged into a speaker here!! If you've never contra danced, this is a great night out with a fun group of people for very little money (aka inexpensive date!). Check it out!
