I can see this as a quick fix if you are desperate for a burger, but it doesn't even come close to the quality and tastiness of INO. The onion rings are great, and battered right in front of you. The strawberry shake was AWESOME, but we threw out the root beer shake and the vanilla malt, which were horrible. Not sure how those can be screwed up. Z Burger is a DC staple if you ask me, and this is one of their best locations. The service is especially great. They make you feel taken care of it. As for the food, it's phenomenal. First things first, this place was FILTHY. I had to wipe down the tabletop and the chair MYSELF. The men working there saw and didn't offer to help, but told me where more napkins were. Such a joke. Anyhow, I initially only came in for a drink after a long day of walking through the city. I had to wait at the counter for awhile until the men working(talking, really) noticed I was there. After paying for my drin, the cashier turned around and went back to his conversation, forgetting to even hand me the cup. I sat and sipped for awhile while my friend and I figured out how to metro to our next destination. Eventually we decided to order a turkey burger. The burger itself lacked flavor but was decent, and is the only reason I gave it 2 stars than just 1. But when we ordered, we were the only people in there. It took forever to get our order! People who came in and ordered after us even asked what time we put our order in just because they also had to wait a long time and we're trying to figure out how much longer it would be. Although the customer service isn't so great and the veggie burger I ordered was the same. Well it wasn't that bad but the texture taste like fine grains of sand. I think what helped it taste better was the spicy sauce I put on the burger. It wasn't worth the 7ish bucks I spent. The workers at the restaurant not only did not attempt to assist me in any way, but they also decided that since I spoke up I needed to wait for ALL of the other customers in the restaurant were served l, including all of the customers who ordered after I did. I visited recently on the evening of 3/6/22. I witnessed the cook drop a spatula on the floor, pick it up and place it back on the griddle. I threatened to contact the Health Department and he told me that my food was already done so it wouldn't be used?!? I've contacted the Health Department. Don't risk your health by eating here. Our cashier was so sweet, and she made me and my brother's experience very favorable. I wish I got her name, but she connected well with us and gave us great service. She had asked us to let her know how our food was, but by the time we left we couldn't find her, so hopefully she finds this review :)) The spicy chicken sandwich was phenomenal (much better than cfa or popeys, and at a much better price too at $5.99!!). My brother ordered the veggie burger, and he was unsure the entire time if it was actually veggie or not because the burger was just that good. This is a horrible location. They cook one burger at a time on a massive grill. There were 12 people I'm the restaurant, and we waited 25 minutes just for our food. I love greasy spoons and my diners with a layer of sludge on all the equipment. But this kitchen looks horribly filthy, and I hope someone from the health department goes to check it out. read more

I would give this place more stars if I could. I mean the sandwiches are just the best! A 8-inch Philly cheesesteak sandwich and a cheese burger were what my wife and I ordered. What we got in return was one of the best late dinners ever! They come wrapped in a bundle of joy and you will know the minute you see it, it has to taste good. This place really really reminds me of cook out but I could be wrong! They had 75 flavors of milkshakes so I tried the strawberry kiwi; which sound like it should probably a smoothie or something. Fell into an interesting, yet funny conversation with Jay and Valentine but they gave me some great advice. It doesn't matter the place or time of the day you always have time to fellowship with ppl, and what a amazing way to do it than over some good food. Service Small hole in the wall which we found walking by. If you live shale shack you'll like this place. Meal I ordered the Philly cheese steak with onion rings. Who's the portions are huge. Cheese steak fell off the roll, you'll definitely need two hands to eat this bad boy. Onion rings were fried just right and went well with my sandwich. The ZBurger food is great, but this location is very poorly managed/operated. Firstly, the staff touches raw chicken with their gloves, then the buns, then uses the same gloves to add lettuce & tomato to the sandwich. Second, I just called in an order. 30 minutes later, I walk into an empty store with 3 employees not cooking or working. I'm told by the woman at the register that they are only taking cash. I asked why, and she said it's because she accidentally rung me up before I got there (which I didn't understand). I explained that I didn't have cash, and she eye-rolled me, as if it was my fault. I asked "is my order ready?" She said yes. But then asked the staff to start the burger... which I had called in for 30 minutes prior. So, I waited another 15. I live across the street in the apartment building. Everyone in the building knows not to buy food there, both because the things above, as well as the rat infestation they had before shutting down and reopening the same awfully run establishment. I try eating here maybe once a year when I'm in a bind, because I happen to like the ZBurger brand/food. But I am consistently turned off by these experiences. read more

We decided to try this place for the first time as it is really close to our apartment complex. We went there on a Saturday night at 7 pm and for whatever reason, there were only two workers there. We had to wait about 10 minutes to order and then it was another 25 minutes to finally get our food, despite only one person ahead of us. The milkshake was fine but it was $6 for a tiny portion size. The burger was good and the fries were fine. I'm not sure if this the sub-par food and long wait time was just a one-time thing, but the staff just seemed a bit disorganized and slow despite it not being busy on a Saturday night. I live nearby so I find myself here once or twice a month. The burgers are good (the bacon on the burgers is great too). The fries are good, as are the shakes. But my issue is that items seem quite overpriced. A shake costs nearly $7 which is a bit absurd to me. The burgers are more reasonable at around $7 as well. Clearly I keep ending up here so the food is fine, but my bank account will suffer if in here too often. read more

The veggie burger took a bit longer than I expected to get done but I appreciate the notification for the delay. Cons: Overpriced My Veggie Burger was more than most of the burgers on the menu. Went after the bar with friends for a small bite to eat. While a single bacon cheese is on the menu, I was told I had to order a double. A double daytime or night time is more than I can consume. Came today to try the Krispy Kreme shake. I order a bacon cheeseburger to go with my shake. The "manager" on duty (a woman who did not want to give me her name) looked at the receipt after we ordered because the cashier thought he rang us up twice. After confirming the order, the manager delivered our burger and said she did not have the shake. She said "sometimes we have sometimes we don't, but I don't like it anyways". She asked us we wanted to try a different shake and we told her we only came for that shake. She said it wasn't good anyways. After going back and forth about how she did not care for the shake (which by the way...we never asked her), I asked if she could just refund our order. She said "the burger is already made". I told her "I only ordered the burger to go with the shake". She said "that makes no sense". WOW. She rudely refunded the money on the card and when I asked for her name or owner's name she refused. I told her "that's ok". I am not the mean person when it comes to food, but I felt like a better way to handle the situation would have been to comp the shake and continue on with our day! Trying to convince a customer that the menu item they desire is "not good" is NOT the correct way to handle business. She was rude and very unprofessional. They had 3 customers (including us two) so it wasn't like we were interrupting a busy Friday. Oh and keep in mind she reviewed the receipt before they even started preparing the burger. read more

I'll be nice since I came here late and there was a big rowdy group waiting for and demanding their food. The space is small, especially when more than 4 people are standing at the counter waiting for their food. The staff was doing the best they could but I'm guessing this location is still working some kinks out. I was told they didn't have the ingredients to make the concretes (custard ice cream blizzard type desserts) but I could order a milkshake. I settled on a marshmallow milkshake and it took more than 15 minutes to get it. During that time I saw all sorts of food items being prepared. The spatula scooping and slathering heaps of what I assume was mayonnaise was a bit off putting but I bet it still tasted good. Plus with that amount of waiting time I reconsidered my choice several times, but when I finally got that cup in my hands I was glad I waited it out! I imagine a return visit during off peak times would have better results. Can't wait to try more milkshake flavors! read more

The service is never all that good, but honestly the bar isn't set very high for a takeout burger place. There isn't much seating inside so it's a little awkward to wait if you're doing takeout and the food can take a while to be ready, but it's worth the wait if I'm craving a burger and don't want to travel far to get one. read more

The portions are a huge plus and definitely good enough to share one order if you have a small appetite, but the food here is just OK to me. Fries were unseasoned and not too crispy, and the burger, while big, didn't stand out to me in terms of flavor. I didn't catch her name but the woman with a manager apron taking our order awesome!
