My fiancé was trying to adopt my 14 year old son. He did well at first, but I would check in randomly to see if there was any update or if he filed papers with the court and I would hear nothing back. He assured me that he would have it done before my son's 15th birthday, which was in June of 2022, and nothing was accomplished. I had really wanted to push it and get things going before my son started school again in August 2022. You guessed it. Nothing. He completely ghost me in September. No updates. No papers filed. No adoption. A complete waste of time after several years.
