I have to give this restaurant one star. I have enjoyed their food and service in the past but recently ate in for dinner and there were several issues, one that was unforgivable. Dishes came out wrong, one dish never even came out, and it took over a half hour for any food to come out at all. The server was not trained on the menu and seemed generally untrained. They were out of a tea I ordered and didn't tell me until later. When the staff was informed of these issues they blamed it on being busy but the restaurant was not even full. I had to ask twice about my dish that never came out. I overheard a server telling our server that my dish was never submitted in the order. They offered to give me my dish, JUST my dish, for free. I said okay and requested it to go as we had already been there for over an hour. Upon arriving home I opened and began to eat my dish, vegetable and tofu pad thai. The noodles were barely halfway cooked, the entire dish was greasy, and there were NO vegetables besides scallions. Then, one of the absolute worst thing that can happen in a restaurant situation, I found a HAIR, that was 100% not mine, in my dish. I have a photo of the dish and the hair as evidence. YUMMY THAI IS MY FAVORITE THAI PLACE IN BUFFALO!! Yes, that totally warranted ALL CAPS! The food is phenomenal! Whether you go to the location in North Tonawanda or on Kenmore Avenue, the food is ALWAYS consistently delicious and the service is incredible! My daughter and I decided to pop in to Yummy Thai last night as we were craving the pud thai and it did not disappoint! We were greeted by the hostess/server who is the nicest girl and we see her every time we come in. She remembered us from our last visit and sat us in our "usual" booth (we had not been at this location since November as we visited the NT one) She brought us water and took our order - veggie pud Thai with tofu (hot) and a Thai iced tea for my daughter and chicken pud Thai (hot) with jasmine tea for me. We also started our dinner with the vegetable spring roll appetizer. As always, the food was cooked to perfection (and quickly, too!) - the spring rolls served first with our drinks and within a few moments of finishing those, our pud Thai entrees were there. Our waitress even remembered that we loved the chili paste and chopsticks with our dinner and brought them for us! The pud Thai was perfectly spicy and filling. We can usually bring home leftovers to eat the next day but for some reason, this trip we were ravenous and ate it all. We were so stuffed that we could not order dessert but have also tried them in the past and have loved them. As we waited to pay for our order, we overheard the gentlemen that were dining behind say that "Dinner was great as always. Yummy Thai certainly lives up to its name." I couldn't agree more. Had a hankering for Thai and sometimes you just can't find good thai and if you do it's most likely a pretty shady place and area. But this place was outstanding! We got an order of pad Thai and street noodles and they were awesome. You could taste every flavor they put in it. You get to choose your spicy level (mild, medium, hot or super hot) I got the hot, and it actually had a kick. So often places claim their food is hot when it is the furthest from it. I also got an order of the golden triangles and the sweet and sour served with it was definitely not from a bag or mass produced (at least it sure didn't seem like it). Everything was so tasty. The service was very nice and we just walked in and ordered to go and it was about a 20 minute wait which wasn't too bad for dinner time. This is probably the closest Thai food to our house and we get take out from here relatively frequently. Of other Thai in the area, the prices here are the most affordable and the staff is out of this world friendly which i appreciate. The pad Thai is super tasty, i always get it with chicken and am never disappointed. They offer different levels of spice with their menu options which is nice. I got medium this time and was a little underwhelmed but rather not quite enough heat then too much. The pineapple fried rice is also super tasty, my wife and i usually share both entrees and are pretty happy. Just WOW, those Thai flavors were on point and tickled my taste buds in a good way! The red chicken curry had fresh zucchini, green bean, cabbage, carrot, red pepper, and onions sautéed in it! Yummy Thai gave us a large side of white rice for it (can upgrade to black or sticky for only $2)! We first enjoyed some curry and then moved to the veggie tofu pad Thai! This pad Thai was phenomenal! The crispy bean sprouts were on top with the crushed peanut. They also gave some lime to squeeze on it! The pad Thai noddles were tasty and the special sauce was just right. The tofu Dan especially enjoyed and I liked the fresh broccoli and veg. We only ate half of the curry and pad Thai.. HIGHLY recommend NOT going for a sit-down dinner here! The restaurant was dark and dingy with FILTHY tablecloths. We arrived about 5pm on Saturday evening. We were one of 4 tables of 2 and spent over 2 hours waiting for service and food to arrive along with the bill, and card, returned. We were brought water with no ice about 5 minutes after sitting, but not asked if we wanted anything else to drink. Noone was seen for almost 15 more minutes, in which she went to the table sat after us first, then another waitress came over almost 10 minutes later. After we ordered, we waited 10 minutes for wine. Our appetizers were taken to the wrong table, almost a half hour after ordering, then instead of bringing them to us, they were returned to the kitchen, other table brought theirs, then she went back to get ours. Golden triangles were raw in the middle and barely warm. Shrimp summer roll was room temperature and had maybe one shrimp throughout and was stuck together. My Tom Kah soup arrived about 15 later and was hot and tasted very good, however, it took another 15 minutes for my husband's Roasted Duck Pud Kee Mow to arrive which was fried and barely warm, however noodles were hot, but the spicy level was not very noticeable when the waitress asked about how my husband would like the heat level and he told her Super Hot. I haven't been into yummy Thai but ordered from SkipTheDishes 2 times now. Once was on New Year's Day and they were one of the few places that was open on the holiday. We ordered their basil chicken and a beef curry dish. I love the aroma of the basil, and the food was "yummy " lol and comforting. The spice of the curry was perfect, and is my favorite. The second time that I have had it. Enjoyed it for lunch the following day. Will have to go back to done it, but so far the food has been outstanding. Yummy indeed! This was my second trip to Yummy Thai and I can't complain about the food. I substituted the Tom Yum soup for the chicken and rice soup that comes with lunch specials. While it was tasty, it wasn't worth the $3 substitute, perhaps next time I'll just skip soup all together, because honestly, there's plenty of food! I ordered the Panang Curry with vegetables and it came with steamed rice and a fried vegetable spring roll. The spring roll and dipping sauce was delish, and the panang curry was awesome. Very flavorful! I'm not certain I'd say it's better than Saigon Bangkok's panang curry, but it's definitely tasty. My friend got the Healthy Garlic stir fry and loved it as well. There are plenty of fresh veggies, the stir fry sauce was good, and it came with the vegetarian spring roll and steamed rice as well. We were there for lunch and while the server was plenty nice, he left us sitting more than practical for being the only one's in the place. We ran dry on water a few times and waited an unnecessarily long time to place our order. Granted, we are two professional women meeting for lunch, so there's the stereotype that we're going to just sit and talk, but, come on. At least check and see if we're ready 3 minutes in and then give us the 15 minutes to chat. We're on our lunch break, dude. This place is not to be mistaken with their location in NT. Maybe its because its a new location, or maybe its because they were busy but the service here was out of control bad. First they forgot to bring water when we asked for it, then they brought out our soups for three of us several minutes apart. Then they brought out our entrees seperately and never brought our third diners meal. Finally when we got their attention and asked they brought it out magically like it had been sitting there for awhile. Then they tried to bring us more soup which we didnt order and then they brought extra entrees to the next table that they didnt order. It seemed like loosely organized chaos at best. The fried tofu had a generous portion, and came with a flavorful Side sauce which gave a nice flavor. (Tofu by nature just goes along with the flavor of what it is with, so the sauce is nice because it provides a flavor) Their pot of hot jasmine tea was very flavorful, and welcome on a cold day. For the main meal we did tofu street noodle. And the chicken Panag curry (medium). All was very good. Desert was sticky rice custard, which was like a rice pudding flavor. Also we had taro custard which was similar to a bread pudding. Yummy! Definitely a relaxed unhurried environment. We went here on a Monday night to find this spot virtually empty, which was kind of unexpected, yet strangely soothing. While it was a little disheartening to think perhaps business was faltering, we were afforded the luxury of undivided attention from the sweetest young lady. Even though I gazed around, imagining all of the design elements I would have altered, it seemed obvious that they had put some time and effort into this clean and cozy little place. We started with the coconut shrimp, which was not only pretty to look at, but fresh, cooked perfectly and tasty. The only thing I would have changed was the sweet coconut sauce they served it with. Personally, I would have preferred a spicy chili sauce or something comparable. Our food arrived promptly and remained surprisingly hot (temperature-wise) throughout the entire meal. I had the Chili Lime Ginger stir fry with chicken, which is rated 3* hot, and it was spicy, but nothing I couldn't tolerate. While it was very tasty, the amount of ginger was a tad overwhelming. The other dish we had was the Pud Kee Mow (a noodle dish) with chicken, which I thought was excellent. It had a little more of the sweet with heat combination that I find appealing. I thought the portions were respectable and found the prices to be very reasonable as well. We have had shoddier meals elsewhere that we paid a lot more for, so no complaints on that end. They do serve alcohol if you care to partake, and there is a nice variety to choose from on the menu. We went on a Friday night, as it is close to our North Buffalo neighborhood. Steady but not packed like the other Thai places in town. It's on the city line of Buffalo and Kenmore. There is also parking. I assume that it's quiet local makes it frequently over looked. Seated right away, the restaurant is comfortable, clean and inviting. They offer beer and wine with three types of Sake. We started our order with the fried chicken spring rolls, with a rich sweet and sour sauce. OMG. So.... Yummy! My new go to instead of running into the city for them. For dinner..I ordered Pudd kee mow a basil noodle dish with chicken. They give you a hot n spicy option. Remember Thai Hot is Spicier than Normal Hot. This dish is a medium spice, if you do not request a hotter spice. Another key point, I'm allergic to egg. Many dishes come with egg. It was not a problem to omit it. Most places its like the end of the world to omit something. They accommodated me without question, meeting my needs. The portion of the dish amazing, the basil sauce out of this world. Dessert they have many choices. I went with the fried vanilla ice cream. It was heavenly. Tasting like an ice-cream pastry with whipped cream and a cherry on top. The service was attentive and fast. They offer a separate take out. I grabbed a menu. Walked in first impression very clean and smelled good. Ordered thai iced tea and thai iced coffee, veey refreshing. Started off with chicken satay and the yummy thai platter. Ordered takeout - did not dine in. Food was ready quickly. Had basil fried rice and pineapple fried rice (both very good although I prefer spicy to sweet). The basil fried rice had a little kick to it but wasn't spicy in my opinion, and I liked the vegetables in it (bell peppers instead of the typical peas/carrots. The pineapple fried rice was excellent... I liked the cashew flavor blending with the pineapple (and it didn't have disgusting thick mystery sauce on it, like other places tend to do). Had the lime ginger chicken stir fry and the cashew chicken. Both meals were excellent. The lime ginger chicken was supposedly HOT... but I'd equate the spice level to maybe medium (not bad... I had no complaints about spice level although knowing this I may try the extra hot). The cashew chicken wasn't spicy which was great... since the person who ordered it hates spicy. I'd definitely order both meals again. We kept the menu that arrived in the bag and will add them to the meal rotation. Terrible customer service. I got a Groupon deal for $20 worth of food for $12. The waiter lied to me multiple times about what was included in the deal and ended up charging me extra. It was delicious my 10 year old son and my fiancee were so pleased we decided to come back next week.
