I'm a sucker for $5 deals so when I saw sushi boxes for $4, I almost died hahah…read more Came across this gem of an establishment on the infamous K Street just between Queen and Liverpool. Location is prime for students, corporate heads and maybe some daytime boozers. My girlfriend and I stumbled upon this place on our way to inspect an apartment in CBD (I wouldn't recommend it) when we walked pass Nuri Maru and saw the $4 box deals. Whaaaat!? 4 bucks!?! We had about 10-minutes before inspection but I didn't want to miss out on that chicken karaage box or the spam masubi or the assorted salmon sushi. Soooo we detoured right inside. Pretty fun atmosphere you'd come to find at a typical Korean-style sushi restaurant - there was even a giant flat screen TV with K-Pop (Korean Pop) music videos on haha. We paid for our boxes and took a seat when a lovely lady from behind the counter asked if we wanted Miso Soup. I declined at first thinking she was trying to upsell me even after we had already paid. But then I noticed the beautiful sign that read "Free Miso for every $5 purchase" or something like that.. I saw "FREE" "Miso" and "$5" so I that's all I cared about. I quickly retracted my declination and said with conviction "YES!" She asked if we wanted two (one for my gf I guess haha).. Again, I said "YES!" as I nodded my head like an Asian school boy. Everything was surprisingly good for something that's been sitting out for who knows how long. The salmon roll was especially delicious - it had that milky, soft, melt-in-your-mouth texture.. mMMMmMmmM We're definitely coming back again.. maybe tomorrow since we have another inspection in the area hahah

It was really good, so we decided to order in and we ordered katsu chicken curry extra chicken and the chicken was really fresh and the curry was yum . As for today, my husband ordered his curry katsu chicken again and I ordered garlic chicken. My husband got the same thumbs up for the fresh chicken and the curry. Except for my garlic chicken, the rice was really good but the chicken was a bit dry. My husband devoured his good and finished mine. Then we ordered an yakisoba noodles plate. Now that was really good too. We heard him cooking this dish right after we ordered. This place is really good you will not be disappointed.

From the sous-vide Abalone to a sashimi tasting with wasabi tartare, there wasn't one item on the menu that didn't make my tastebuds jump for joy. As if the friendly service and flavorful food wasn't enough, Ebisu is also a must try for any serious Sake lovers (and the Japanese whiskey menu is also a treat!)

Beef was tender and easy to chew, veggies were full of flavor. Fish was full of flavor and well textured. Definitely well balanced but I'd trim the cabbage salad to half as it was hard for me to finish, and maybe add a few more slices of salmon/tuna. Service was a bit slow considering the restaurant was not considerably busy, but all of my meals were served in a timely fashion. There was a party that got the same menu as me (shame on her for judging me eating alone but whatever), and the difference in time for us getting our foods wasn't too far apart. Ambiance - it is a very popular restaurant, has the stereotype of an up-scale buzzy restaurant. Definitely good for solo and accompanied dining :) I'd give this a 4 star rating. Food was great but the service could be better and more attentive.

Delicious sushi at a reasonable price…read more The serving style is very causal. You grab a plate and a serving tong, then you just slide open the glass door to access what sushi you want. Everything is pre-made so it quick and easy. After you pay, you are allowed to go upstairs for a seating area. We just wanted to eat it on the spot so we opt to just stand and eat. It was great! Don't shy away from this sushi stall just because it's pre-made and isn't sit-down style. The flavor and freshness is all there. The next time I see a &Sushi, I would definitely order a few bites to go. They have so many different options to choose from and the ones that we got tasted fresh. I would even say that this is much better than some sit down restaurants I've been to back in the US.

The sushi is displayed on the side of the street, so it is very tempting even if you aren't hungry. You grab a plate (if you decide to dine upstairs) or a to go box and grab whichever piece of sushi you would like. Sometimes, at sushi restaurants, do you ever order one roll and it comes in 6-8 pieces and it's not that great and you just wish you had gotten another roll? Well fear not, at &sushi, you can grab sushi by the piece! The colorful sushi, fresh fish and unique flavors (kimchi sushi) makes this place a fun and delicious experience. We grabbed a plate and ate on the street - you can't get more casual than that! Do yourself a flavor and grab a plate, your favorite pieces of sushi and enjoy. (Then go to Milse right across the street and make your tastebuds dance in delight with their beautiful and scrumptious cakes.)
