Yuen's would be a find anywhere in the world. Here, it's practically a miracle. The standard asian dishes are very well done, equal to what you can get in typical "very good" restaurants in New York. But they also serve some dishes which are not on the standard menu, and while I only had the chance to eat here once, these really stood out as wonderful.
For non-native cuisines, it's only when you get a large number of similar restaurants in the same place that the competition gets steep enough to reliably get good food. So going to an asian restaurant in a city without a large asian population is usually a bad idea. But most European cities don't have large asian population, my experience with asian food in Europe has generally been pretty bad (Indian food in London being an example of good Asian food in Europe, and fitting the rule given the large Indian population there). So a restaurant like Yuen's in the Netherlands, is a rare gem. read more
