My sister later told me, she thought it wasn't somewhere you should be in the evening- I guess the location is questionable. However, during the day I felt safe. The tractor driver that took us out to get pumpkins was super helpful and funny too! Parking is free and the food is decent. Our kids had a blast and my husband and I had a great time too! We did just about every attraction they had there and we plan on going back again next year! The pumpkin pricing is also very cheap! It comes out cheaper than you think based on the same sizing and pricing the show. That was a plus! We spent $4 on 3 medium sized pumpkins!

Visiting them is quite easy as it's a short drive from Las Cruces. There's a visitor center if you would like to know the history behind the area in addition to appreciating the natural beauty of the area. It's also good for planning out your hikes. There are a bunch of trail maps and the maps that prohibit dogs are also clearly marked. There are gorgeous views and the trails seemed well maintained with gravel/dirt. They are well marked so you can't get lost. In addition, there are plenty of bathrooms at the trailhead and visitor center. There's also a water fountain for both people and dogs at the visitor center.

Not sure of exact address so again it is right off Loham behind Target. First off, be super careful if you have a low profile vehicle. From the Loham side you drive up a concrete driveway then on top it turns into dirt and the transition is a little rough if you are not expecting it. DRIVE slow at the top. On the Loham side you have to choice walk the bottom which seems a little easy as it is a true asphalt path. The bottom has some cottonwood trees to walk under. But that is not always safe. The bottom also leads to the Veterans Park Memorial about 1 and half in.On the top of the dam it is all gravel. You can't walk from the top to the bottom! There was no trails. There is no shade so wear sunscreen. I would recommend going at sunrise, sunset or on a breezy day. We walked to the halfway point marked by a rock pile. Halfway is 1.6 miles. Total walk for us 3.2 miles There is some pretty views of the mountains but it does get monotonous. We did see some birds with a yellow chest, a some blueish birds, and some cool spotted lizards.

This used to be the golf course we would always drive to and/or take visitors to when we played. I will consider other courses from here on out. Very disappointed lately. The new golf carts also do not let you drive anywhere on the course. We don't recklessly drive on the course, but the carts actually slow the rate of play. It's awful and frustrating.
