I had a breakdown every month staying here for my first year of uni. Some of the minimum wage staff on the desk were nice but I felt like I was inside both a prison and a victorian insane asylum at the same time. The rooms are FILTHY and cramped, everything is broken or so cheaply made that it looks broken already. For one example I found my ensuite bathroom started smelling after a few weeks of moving in and couldn't figure it out. Turned out there were the previous person's used pads and tampons in the sanitary bin! Also found mouldy food in the cupboards when moving too. Absolutely no sound proofing in the rooms, if you more than whisper in your room everyone else can hear. Despite everyone being extremely aware of this, the other residents do nothing but play extremely loud music, have screaming matches, bang doors, have parties in the corridors and shout with each other in the corridor when coming back at 2am. A crazy drug problem, had to deal with not one but two people having overdoses that somehow I had to deal with. Despite this no one can bring in any alcohol of any kind without dire repercussions. Also I found many residents to be rude and violent and often criminals, and when I told the staff on four separate occasions of bullying and harassment, they refused to do anything about it even though there was CCTV evidence. Also I have to say for the quality of the accommodation, it is insanely expensive. You could go to nicer mental wards. If you love cramped, dirty, noisy, utterly terrifying and soul killing places to stay, I highly recommend. In fact I had to spend my first term in and out of hospital because I was having seizures because of stress. What a fun fun fun experience, honestly. For the love of god, go stay somewhere else. I felt like I was living in a horror film. read more
