Staff are super friendly and made the experience so easy. The steak wrap was delicious with flavorful sauces. The meat was well cooked and love that the wrap is thinner which they make it nice and toasty on the outside. The fresh veggies and pickles inside the wrap give it a nice crunch. Came here on a Saturday afternoon and found parking right in front! The cashier was super nice. I asked her which wraps she recommended, and she mentioned the chicken, steak, and Adana kebab wraps were popular. I decided to get the Adana kebab wrap to go. It's made with minced lamb and beef, seasoned with their signature spices. The meat was perfectly seasoned, though it wasn't spicy. Combined with the fresh veggies and their housemade sauce, it was delicious! I have a nut allergy, and they assured me the wrap had no nuts. I appreciated that they even double-checked for me! The to-go order took about 10 minutes. They gave me a to-go bag along with a Yelp utensil case, which was so cute! We're planning to dine in soon to try more dishes. Sat 2/15/25 tried out Sofra Grill in SSF. I don't like driving far so I took Bart to San Bruno Bart Station and walked 20min, 1 mile. Once I got inside I told lady I was here for Yelp event, was asked dine-in or takeout? I said dine-in. I picked salmon wrap. Waited a short time while they made the food. Small shop with good amount of seating, also saw 1 table for outdoor dining My salmon wrap was really good! Lightly crispy outside, lots of salmon inside, pickled veggies on the side. Came to the red badge celebration here and it was so much fun, I came here for a previous yelp event before they opened and the food was delicious then, so I knew it was going to be just as good. So since I came here before I know were to park. There was a Yelp person outside the event and that was helpful since we were not going to the restaurant part. I got signed in and then picked a table. I met with some of my yelp friends and met some new ones. Paolo was there to immediately welcome us and tell us what to do like get appetizers and drinks. the swag was nice (it always is). When the food came out Paolo told us to get in line but not to rush because they were making new rounds and so nothing would run out. The food was delicious and we even got to bring some home. I brought some for my mom and she LOVED IT. she asked if we could go soon to eat there. We met with the owner and he was so humble and nice. Finally had a chance to try Sofra Grill! Thank you yelp for this experience. I ordered the falafel wrap to go. It was ready within 15 mins and came with a nice yelp utensil travel set. The falafel wrap was fresh and toasted to perfection. The falafel could have been more flavorful as I thought it was a little on the bland side. The garlic and hot sauce helped to spicen it up. If you want something different and fun - the lamb shank dish! it came wheeled on a cart to my table because it was so heavy. Then the server cuts up the breading which looks like a pie topped with sesame seeds, and what's inside? Once it's opened up it's the lamb shank and rice, onions, lemon, tomato. I was not expecting that delightful service I also tried the steak wrap, it was ok for me. Personally I like it more saucy so I wish there was more sauce to go with the meat and everything inside, would give it more flavor Had to wait a long time for the kunafa dessert. We have been looking for Mazra alternative for sometimes. So, Soffra was a timely outing for us. In the times when eating out has becoming soooo expensive. Soffra was a great find. I had a better falafel wraps in the past. But, mine was satisfying. The falafels were tasty and perfectly cooked. There's something missing, but I could not put my fingers on. Hubby ordered lamb. It came inside a dough blanket that turn to a tasty treat. Hard to explain! But, please look at picture. I dont eat lamb, so, I cannot personally attest to the taste. Another great community experience Paolo! Called in my order and stopped in about 15 minutes later. Made sure to come a little earlier in the day since parking can be a little tricky. Got lucky with a front spot! The employees were super nice and quick to prepare the order. Also noticed that despite it being early, the restaurant was moderately full. I completely forgot I've been to Sofra grill once before! We thought it was a great spot then and this yelp elite event proved to me again what a gem this place is.  I got the Kofte wrap and that first bite HIT! The spiced beef married so well with the sauce and pickled veggies inside. Recommend to eat it sooner rather than later as the bread starts to get soggy. They also gave me some mini tubs of their garlic white sauce which kick the Kofte wrap up another notch. The garlic sauce is pure magic. We were greeted by a female employee who happily showed us what was available through the promotion as well as explained some of the desserts available in the see through case at the counter. I heard the words tangerine and pomegranate and was very intrigued and was also loving the amount of pistachios used in a lot of the desserts.  I have to save the baklava for another day as I already knew I wanted a kunafa to take home. Sofra Grill has the best wraps! I love the pickles and the chicken (flavorful and juicy!) in my chicken shawarma wrap. The portions are generous and pricing reasonable. The hubby got a baba-ganoush dip (that came with 2 pita) and a lentil soup. Everything was delish! Pro-tip: ask for the garlic sauce and hot sauce to enjoy with your dishes. Service was friendly and quick. On this Saturday night around 8:20 pm, we found parking easily in the front of the restaurant, and we ordered and finished eating in less than 30 mins. Headed over to the restaurant at around 5 pm and my mom and I decided to eat in at the restaurant! Most of the tables were still free and the inside is pretty modern with dark wooden fixtures. The staff were very efficient, giving us all our utensils, water and dishes almost one after another. Falafel - These were so crispy on the outside with a coating of spice and the inside was so soft and moist. One of my favorite falafel textures and it was perfect when eaten with the tzatziki sauce that was creamy, cooling and slightly sour. Garlic Parmesan Fries - Fries are usually so heavy and difficult to finish but these were very crunchy and light. I didn't taste or notice much garlic flavor but liked the fresh parmesan on top. Steak Wrap - The portion of this was massive! The steak was cooked and marinated well and balanced with the creamy sauce and all the vegetables like cucumbers, tomatoes, onions that added freshness and crunchy textures. All the flavors paired together so nicely with the crisp outside wrap. We definitely had some leftovers from the generous portion sizes but really enjoyed getting to try this new restaurant in the SSF area and are planning when to come back already. Great experience! First time trying Sofra and as a fellow Middle Eastern (which means I can be picky). I placed a pick up order for the Adana wrap, and my coworker got a Chicken plate. I also ordered the knafe dessert and pomegranate lemonade. Flavors were excellent! Service was quick and friendly. I would have preferred more vinegar/tart in my wrap (long pickles or picked turnip) as the sauce was a bit on the sweeter side. I also didn't find the Adana to be spicy at all - zero spice. We were on our way out of town for a road trip and decided to use our Yelp Elite perk to pick up some lunch at Sofra along the way. We got two orders of their adana kabab wrap. You get quite a bit of food but the wrap is conveniently cut in half for you. The way that they grill the wrap also ensures that everything stays together as you eat it, which was key to a one-handed meal during a long drive. The protein is minced lamb and beef and it is so perfectly well seasoned with their signature blend of spices. They pair the protein with an even layer of veggies and some of their housemade sauce and altogether, you have a tender, moist, flavorful dish that fills you up. If you need more sauces, they provide a couple of dipping sauces on the side for you, but you honestly don't need it. The restaurant itself isn't very large but I was still able to grab a table to sit at while I waited for my food to be prepared. They make everything fresh and to order so it takes ~15 minutes, but this is totally worth it. read more

This was my first ever Peninsula YCE! I came by on a Saturday shortly after they opened and decided to dine in. Received a friendly greeting from the staff and owner. Chose the beef and lamb wrap for my complimentary wrap and ordered the soup of the day which was lentil soup. The soup came out first within 10 minutes followed by the wrap a couple minutes later. That's quick! I wasn't expecting such a big bowl of soup. If I wasn't sharing it with my partner I would have taken it home as the wrap itself was also generous. The soup warmed up my soul and the thick bread that came with it was nice. My partner who isn't a carbohydrate fan even took a piece home because we couldn't finish it. I really enjoyed the wrap, it was tasty and was even better with the hot sauce and garlic sauce. Though I found the hot sauce to be very mild. The garlic sauce had a big punch of garlic. So you'll want to have a breath mint afterwards. The crispy grilled flatbread was also a memorable feature of the wrap. If you are a fan of sweets they have baklava which I was told is made in house. Thank you Yelp Peninsula Manger, Paolo B for letting me into this event in South San Francisco for there are a lot of great restaurants here that I love to explore. He said sure. We talked for a while and his photo is on the take out menu. He gave me the Yelp away reusable Utensils as they ran out of Yelp reusable bags. The little restaurant is on the small block of restaurants between the Smart and Final and near the bowling alley. Neighborhood parking was relatively easy. I been to at least 4 places in this small area, great bakeries and Sees's candy headquarters factory right across the street where you can't miss it. Also worker was putting up the Specials sign on Saturday and food on there looked yummy. Mediterranean food is always one of my favorites as it's healthy and light. I have been a fan of lamb and beef so logically I ordered the Adana Kabab skewered spicy minced lamb & beef with their signature seasoning that comes with tomatoes, Persian cucumbers, pickles, onions, garlic sauce & house sauce and I ordered the SOFRA Bread which is freshly baked sesame & Nigella seeds. They made it quick about 15 minutes wait and the waiter brought it outside to me where I was waiting. Soft and tender meal easy to chew, I got no complaints, he also gave extra sauce and hot sauce I with the meal. Thanks so much Sophra Grill and Paolo! I came on Friday for lunch and preordered over the phone. I got the salmon wrap and got my wife a lamb shank on the side. The food was ready for us when we arrived and they allowed us to sit and eat at the restaurant even though we ordered takeout which was nice of them since they had an almost full restaurant. The food was some of the best Mediterranean food we have eaten in the Bay Area! The wrap was just crispy enough without being too hard to chew. I was also shocked by how much food there was for the wrap. The salmon was very flavorful and moist along with the dressing. The lamb shank was tender and flavorful and was balanced well by the rice. We were both so satisfied by the meal and also so full that we ended up eating just a small meal for dinner. We will definitely come back! read more

I've been to Sofra Grill several times, so when I saw they were hosting a Yelp Elite Event, I was excited to join in. I stopped by in the late afternoon and ordered the kofte wrap to go. The young man who took my order mentioned it would take about 10 minutes to prepare. My wrap was placed in a reusable Yelp bag with a travel utensil set. The wrap itself is long and skinny, large enough to share, though I did wish there was a bit more meat inside. The side of garlic sauce is absolutely delicious.
