One awesome event. I arrived early because I was unsure about parking. Although it was free I just was not certain exactly where it was located. I made out well with parking. I arrived 5:50am early of course because that is just how I like to operate. Checked in at 6:30am. Check in was a breeze. I received my t-shirt and bib number. I went to my car to switch shirts because I was not parked far away. Returned back to the check in location where there were booths set up to keep you busy. Radio station booth, heating and plumbing booth, dunkin donuts booth, a booth you could purchase a stuffed animal for a kid, a medieval times booth and a couple more. I truly enjoyed myself. Then we had the pre-workout. Stretching, jumping jacks, sit ups push ups and more. Can't remember the persons name that sang the national anthem but, she did an awesome job. We were more than prepared for the race after the pre-events. The weather really was nice for my one mile walk. This was my first time participating and boy was I satisfied from start to finish. Once we were at the end of the walk we were actually on the baseball field. Then we entered inside for nice goodies and treats as a reward. Cookies, fruit, fruit on the stick, water, naked juice.
Although, I entered this race alone I truly did meet some wonderful people. I think I will be doing this walk again next year. read more
