Such a beautiful little place to get away from the fast-paced Houston life and just slow down for a while cute and cozy lots of different options from little cabins to full-size homes even a RV all cabins and homes are fully stocked bring your clothes and you're good to go. We really enjoyed our stay here and would definitely recommend this for a weekend getaway! The area is clean and well-kept. Sandy is definitely a great 'host' and Jasper is a wonderful pet!! We stayed in the RV/Trailer and we were surprised at how comfortable and roomy it was. Boating in the lake was serene and it was nice to hear all the birds and wildlife around us! Old Livingston is 10 minutes up the road with great antique shopping (Downtown Treasures, Consignment Mall, etc.) and we took Sandy's advice and stopped in at the Courthouse Whistle Stop cafe for breakfast - yum yum yummy! Our stay in The Lake House was just what we'd been looking for. Our 5 year old grandson was with us and there was plenty of room for fun. Even when it rained, the back porch was covered & offered a great place for us to be outside but protected from the rain. We made our own breakfast, but found the kitchen tools that we needed for cooking. Having a washer & dryer was very convenient for us, too. My teenage sons and myself spent a wonderfully quiet weekend here. We stayed in the Lake House that is directly on the water of a small lake. I got to relax while they took one of the many John boats out and fished. They enjoyed paddling around the lake and hiking around the area. The lake house is a never ending maze of rooms and has a nice game room and huge back deck with a grill that you can use. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything amenity and kitchen tool you could imagine. Sandy, the owner, gave me a tour of each of the cabins and spots that they rent out. We went in a chilly winter weekend so we and another family were the only ones there but it was perfect. Each home is exactly that, a home. She has spent much time and effort to make them cozy, clean and inviting. She welcomed us each morning with hot coffee and wonderful conversion. We plan to have many, many more stays there. read more

This is a really good place to take a family for vacation. Cabin was big with a fully furnished with a full kitchen. Boating, playing basketball, and playing ping pong in a quiet and peaceful place was really relaxing. We enjoyed our stay here. Loved playing with Texas (owners grandson) and jasper. Will come back again and looking forward to spending more days here. read more
