I really appreciate their flexibility. I had arranged to rent a car from them for an entire month…read morewhile in Marburg Germany. The first car they gave me was a Toyota Avensis. The car was not very good- the steering, suspension, and engine weren't good. It did not feel safe or stable on the Autobahn and it stalled very easily at stoplights (my daily driver in the states is a manual, so I am not a novice shifter). I was really worried about driving this car with my family in it. I asked them in my beginner's German if I could switch cars, and they did indeed give me a VW Passat Kombi as a replacement. What a relief! The car was night and day better. Clutch and shifter were perfect- no stalling. Rock-stable at speed on the Autobahn, excellent suspension and steering. I don't know if the VW is that good or if the Toyota is just that bad. Probably both. Anyway, I hugely appreciate their understanding. They transformed the car rental from being a source of angst to source of joy.
