This place was packed every time we walked by so we decided to make sure we gave it a go. We went on Monday night - but it is actually closed on Monday, and not Tuesday as the Yelp schedule has it. My husband really wanted to try it, so we decided to make it our lunch spot on Tuesday afternoon. When you walk in, you get to see them making the fresh pasta and baking pizzas - a nice touch to tourists not used to fresh pasta always being made. We had to try the fresh pasta, even though it was lunch time, and split a pizza. It was probably the best pizza of the trip. Great lunch, wish we had arranged to go for dinner and get a full meal but we were already leaving Florence that evening. read more

My favorite pizzeria in Florence! Upon arrival we were quickly greeted and showed the pasta making area before being seated. The menu is extensive so I asked what pasta they recommended. I went with the taglioni with tomato sauce which was hand made. It was superb! We also ordered a mushroom and olive pizza which I can say was the best pizza I had in the city. This is a great spot for classic, fresh pasta. We ate here twice on our trip to Florence because we trusted the quality (which, after a different restaurant experience we had, was worth a lot to us!). We ordered a number of different items on the menu and were pleased with everything. Prices are great, wait staff speaks great English, and the restaurant moves fairly quickly. This is definitely a solid, no-frills type restaurant, but it's perfect for a quick lunch or dinner. You couldn't go wrong with anything on the menu! read more

Lively and warm atmosphere. The homemade pasta is delicious!!! You can see them making it in one of the back corners of the restaurant. We had the gnocchi rose and the butter and sage ravioli- absolutely delicious and really hit the spot. Highly recommend. read more

Stopped in here for lunch walking around town. Both my wife and I loved the place. It was crowded but it only took about 10 minutes to get a seat. During my stay in Florence, Italy the owner of our B&B recommended this place for lunch or dinner. Much like most of the food in Florence the food was amazing. This place used to be my fallback place for when I didn't want to deal with reservations or waiting for a table at any of the better Florentine restaurants. However, the food here is mediocre. (And the last time I went, both my mom and I suffered stomach issues after..) The service was horrendous - because they tack on a 12% service charge on your bill automatically - which is quite ridiculous by Italian restaurant standards. A complete tourist trap, you'll rarely see Florentines here unless they're friends with the employees. I had a little more faith in this place when I lived in Florence but after my last experience, I most definitely won't be sending anyone here. Went here with my family after a day out in Florence. Located very close to the Duomo. Very delicious food (all six of our plates were licked clean!) and dessert. They have homemade pasta, which you can witness them make. The service was excellent, accommodating, and relatively fast compared to other restaurants I went to in Florence. Lively atmosphere. Came here two years ago and it was great. Came here last year and it was okay...came here this year and we were very disappointed. The service was terrible, the pizza dough was changed from previous year (more healthy maybe, or gluten free) but kind of mealy...not good and very watery. We are vegetarian so I can't say anything about the meat dishes, but we had enjoyed a delicious zuccini, eggplant, asparagus and pasta dish that used to come with a hint of mint and shared in a large skillet. This year we received tiny portions even though we shared, no bread sticks or anything...accompanied by mediocre service (sergio) we will not return....he never checked on us or offered dessert, which we would have ordered because we were still quite hungry from the sample like portion. I might be a little biased because our hotel is next door, but let me just say, I have had a lot of bad food in Italy. A lot of bad, expensive food. This is freshly made pasta in house, delicious pizzas, fresh salads. It's popular and busy. Since we have a baby who goes to bed early, we have taken to ordering takeout every night and eating it in our room. Not the optimal florentine experience, and the concept kind of confused them at first when I called, but what do you do? The best meals we have had in Italy have been on the floor of our hotel with Yellow Bar takeout and a sleeping baby in the room. We did eat there once too. We have enjoyed the carbonara, ravioli rosa, gnocchi rosa, Paglia e fieno, margarita pizza, arugula Parmesan salad. Loved it all. Not even sure if I have a favorite. We did try some other places in Florence, but haven't liked anything as well, so we are making ourselves regulars. Also, the prices are reasonable. Last night we had pizza and pasta for 12 euros! (Of course we are in our hotel so we had our own drinks). In Rome, we never got out of a crappy restaurant for under about 35-40. read more

This was the best Italian food we had in Florence. We have a family of 6. They squeezed us in last minute because the place is big. Great atmosphere. High ceilings. They make their own pasta (they actually showed us) and the waitress made sure we only ordered pasta that was just made. I had the spicy spaghetti and we also had the fresh ravioli and gnocchi. This is my must-go place while in Florence every year. They make their own dough for the pasta (you can see them making it on the spot if you take a look at their pasta station at the top of the staircase on your left as you enter) and the pizza (which you can see them toss in the air... just like in the pizza commercials!) and year-after-year they have never disappointed me (I've been eating here for the past 7 years while I'm in town). The food is affordable (which was a deciding factor my first time), the menu is long and the quality of the food is great. A true northern Italian experience. While this place has an ever increasing number of tourists, it used to be mostly Italians and you can see the regulars still eating here. Like most places in touristy locations, this place gets packed during meal hours (and it closes between lunch and dinner - re-opens at 6:15pm), so don't go in a huge rush during dinner time as service can get a little slow (or go at exactly 6:15pm and you will be in and out in a breeze). Remember, this is Italy, a meal is meant to be savored with time and enjoyed with a good conversation... relax, you are on vacation! read more

We were referred to this locals favorite by our breakfast waiter as a really good place for our last dinner in Firenze before heading off to Venezia. Finding it was a bit challenging but definitely worth it! No reservations necessary--maybe 10-15 min wait. Very friendly atmosphere--the mussels were a great appetizer--tasty & plump, and my 4 cheeses pizza with a slight drizzle of olive oil (as I copied another customer) was the best pizza ever--very thin crust and delicious! Great pizza, wine, friends and a good-looking waiter left me with a memorable last evening in Firenze. I'll be back! read more

The food was great, but the service was the worst experience I have ever had. The waiter called Michel provided the service judged by nationality. After he asked us where we are from at first, me and my friends got totally unfair behavior. For example, we were sitting at the table and waiting for the menu, while he was talking to another people and pretend not to see us. He gave us menu only when we asked for it after more than 10 minutes later. And he didn't give us enough time to look throgh the menu. When he was delivering food, he didn't introduce the food and just put the food at the corner randomly. After we finish the food, I raised my hand to request the bill, again he pretend not to see us. And we got the bill until another waitress saw us. During the whole time, we got absolutely unfair service and racist behavior which makes me very sad and disappoint. And the most ironic thing is that we were charged another 12% service fee in the end. As a tourist first time came to Florence, I feel so upset and heartbroken. read more
