    Sushi lunch special.

It was mediocre. I've had better. Got a huge stomach ache after eating here and was sick the rest of the day. My husband got the curry and he said it was ok. We've had better food and didn't get sick

I thought this place was pretty cool and somewhat authentically Japanese as they love their vending machines and automation. Came here with my sister and I liked all of the food except for the fish pancakes. It was very heavy and didn't have much flavor. What I did love was the sushi and we got a salmon spring roll that was really nice and light and had greens. The menu was expansive and they were very speedy at getting our orders out. This place is also an introvert or quiet persons heaven. There is barely any reason to interact with humans here at all. I would come back!

You had me at Sake Kart, Yebisu Izakaya you wonderful thing you! Yup, let's skip dinner and demand the sake girl stand at my table all night ringing a bell, giggling and celebrating my love for sake. Well... the food was pretty awesome as well. I love restaurants that take full advantage of technology. There is an ipad set up at your table for you to take a look at the menu, order and call a waitress for help. There are good pictures of the food, but not that much of a description apart from the name of the dish. But, never fear, call a waitress/waiter and they will assist. The food was pretty yummy! It wasn't top quality, but good street food style. All of it was quite well priced and there was a good selection. Not a huge amount of veggies available, but lots of yummy items to share amongst friends. In particular I really love the mayo prawns. They were tempura battered and were smothered in kewpie with seasoning. Omg yum! As for the set up, it was really cool! Set up to look like a little market place with some street art painted on the walls. We were set up in the back in a booth, try and get one of those if you can.

I had a pleasant experience and I'd say this place became one of my favorites Japanese restaurants. It's very convenient, although a bit of wait for your table is necessary. Frequently there's a waiting line outside. The highlight here is the handy touch screen menu which has a huge range of dishes. I loved this stuff: order your meal and call for the bill at the end. My Karague Rice Bowl (A$ 13,80) was delicious: rice topped with karague with misso soup, two slices of sashimi and salads. Also, I ordered a white soda, kind of soft drink. The place is very cool and good waitstaff service. For sure I'll back here to taste other dishes and take a chance to use the tablet menu again!!!

I was in Japan last year and I didn't even see this kind of touch screen ordering there. What ho? This is the business, especially for someone as impatient as I am, and it takes the possibility of a waiter screwing up my order right off the scene. It's 'bout bloody time if you ask me and more places should adapt this method! Let's be honest it's not like it's fine dining where you need to be taken through the menu and wine selections. If you're coming here, it's because you know and love good Japanese food when you see it. There can be no confusion over what you ordered, you can go to a screen that shows you everything that you have ordered and it's status. A little animated chef in the corner shows you that it's being made right now! Service was super fast. Ordered a beer and Blam, it appeared like a rabbit in a hat trick. Sashimi Entree was on the money. Fresh Salmon and Tuna. King Shitake Mushroom with garlic butter was one of the evening's specials for a starter. Very hard to go wrong there. $5 Sapporo. してくださいはい ( Yes please!) They aren't even that cheap at the bottle shop. Okonomiyaki - which literally means whatever you like, fried in an omelet style. We got the seafood. It was full of delicious Japanese Mayo and BBQ sauce. Bonito flakes on top to boot. But the best thing I had was a single $5.80 Wagyu skewer. I cannot stress enough how good Waygu is. I reckon the marble score was 8 billion on this little baby. I called it a meat lolly. droooool. Sake.. Yes. All the kinds. Hot and cold and even Japanese moonshine as I call it. It's made from Potato... come on!! Spent a cool hunjy between me and my man, but we were very happy with that. It reminded us of a sweet ass Izakaya in Harijuku. Open late.

Saw the good reviews for this place and decided to drop by for lunch with a friend. During lunch this place isn't really an Izakaya type place (outside of drinking) as they mostly offer bento boxes. The selection is pretty good, ranging from sushi, to curry, teriyaki chicken/fish, fried items, and assorted boxes. The quality of food is pretty good as well, as reflected in the price. You'll be paying a little more in comparison to other casual Japanese restaurants, but it's reflected in how good the food is. Hopping on the touchscreen bandwagon Yebisu incorporates this well and service is prompt and friendly. I ordered the curry lunch set and my friend ordered the sushi lunch set. Each lunch set also comes with slices of sashimi, something you don't see everyday. The miso soup has cabbage in it as well, which is a little out of the ordinary but this miso soup was one of the tastier ones I've had in Sydney. The lunch sets here are huge...don't make the same mistake I did thinking the lunch set would be small (fat American in me talking) and then order a hand roll on the side...the hand roll is HUGE!!! Much larger than hand rolls at other establishments, so order with caution unless you're like, really hungry. Come check this place out, well worth a visit...I'll have to come back to see how it is after work for dinner.

Step aside Assembly, this new addition to "Japan town" a.k.a Regent Place is a great spot of drinking (as well as food - eating after drinks is also good). Top points for this place is a very convenient location, being right next to town hall station, as well as QVB for buses or next to the cinemas making this place great for a cheeky sake or Japanese beer. Pricing is very reasonable too (its in between the cheap/low end of the other two businesses and the expensive end of the businesses downstairs). This place also does cards unlike the other 2 nearby Japanese businesses run by the same owner - but I'm guessing they want you to spend (the touchscreens combined with drinking tend to make it a very easy way to do so). I think I've found a new place to hangout regardless.

Great fun and delicious food. We were a group of 8 with ages from 3 to very old. Dining very early meant that it wasn't packed with customers initially but by the time we had finished it was pretty full. The gyoza was a hit plus the Beef & Garlic fried rice was excellent

This Japanese place reminds me a lot of The Transformers movies, may be because it is originally Japanese and is pretty high-tech for a restaurant. It also had all the shortcomings of the movie as well, despite having plenty of action and eye-candy like super-cars and Megan Fox, the memorable storyline and character development was not there. At Yebisa Izakaya (YI), you have your personal ordering system via an iPad. Very good system indeed, the whole menu is there and ordering is very simple. Each item is sent to the kitchen upon selection improving and speeding up the ordering process quite a bit. Status of each dish can be seen in real time as well as the total bill on the iPad. Service was also very good, waiters were very hospitable and the chefs really had a eye for detail on the sushi platter as you can see. YI has the special effects (iPad ordering) and good-looking cast (service and customer service). The main objective was lost unfortunately. Gyoza was soggy and not crispy down the bottom as it should be it was a disappointment. Nice touch by the chef by combining two dishes: the sushi platter with the soft-shell crab sushi in an inspired presentation. Nevertheless, again no substance, sashimi component was not of the best value and wrapped sushi roll fillings were disappointing. Conclusion Dinning at YI is sort of a gimmick, some days they might get the food right, but not on my visit. The place has a good energy and concept but failed to deliver on taste. @thesydneynoob

The ambiance was inviting and the place is fun. My friend and I came after spotting the $2 beer promotion for their 2 year anniversary celebration. It ended up being our most expensive meal. ROFL! The menu was short for an izakaya. I found myself flipping through the menu and can't pick an item I want. Also, I must say I was quite disappointed at the quality of the food. Except for the beer, this place isn't cheap (relative to the quality). The bill adds up quickly too - props to their easy iPad ordering system? We tried a variety of items but only the grilled eggplant with miso left an impression in the end.

Colourful, tasty, FAST, reasonably priced. We came here for a work lunch (just three of us) and the first thing you notice is the casual ambiance and the electronic touch pad menus at each table, to place your orders. Every single time you confirm an order a bell goes off in the kitchen. Hehe. Love it. We had fun browsing through the menus electronically. Our three appetisers came out within minutes. We also ordered a few lunch boxes and sushi rolls to share!! Prices seemed reasonable for a Japanese/Sushi restaurant, but to our surprise we got much more than we bargained for. Portions were generous and filling. I loved the sushi bowl in particular. Various cuts of fish in a bowl served on top of rice. Whilst service wasn't amazing, it wasn't required. Staff did seem nice though (very authentic Japanese crew) and we got everything we asked for in good time, to great quality and at a reasonable price. Definitely would come here again!!

Yebisu really makes you feel like you're eating in Asia. The decor is very warm and welcoming, lanterns and plywood, along with the constant hustle and bustle really adds to the ambience. The food is on the pricier side but it is still decent. The cheese cauliflower is definitely an entree worth trying. The rest of the meal was up to standard, the sashimi was fresh and the mains were very tasty. Word of warning, having the instant order via iPad usually leads to overeating.

When you're in Japan, it's a must to visit Izakaya to sample all the marvellous food it has to offer. It also gives you the opportunity to taste many different things when there are small plates to pick from. Izakaya Yebisu is a taste of Japan (if you don't mind the pun). Situated in Regent Place, you sit in booths, at tables or watch the chefs in action. Japanese memorabilia adorns the walls and it feels like you're in Japan. We sat in a booth and perused the menu, which is on a touch screen computer at this place! The screen is catergorised into specials, sushi, sashimi, desserts and drinks so it is easy to locate what you're looking for. Prices are listed, as well as an image. Add it to your cart and order away! Press for service or a glass of water - easy to get what you need promptly. We begun with a wagyu hot pot, tender beef in a beautifully flavoured soup with vegetables and tofu. We also got some ramen to go with it. This was a great meal for a cold winters night. When you're at an izakaya, you can't go past yakitori - pork, seafood, chicken, your choice! We had some moist chicken thigh, nicely seasoned. We also shared some salmon nigiri. One of my the specials was a sashimi cone - an incredible ice cream cone filled with sashimi, vegetables, avocado and roe! How cool is that! The sashimi here is extremely fresh, they get in from the fish markets daily. There were some great looking desserts and whilst the tempura ice cream looked outstanding, we couldn't go past the green tea tiramisu, nice and spongey with cream, ice cream and fruits. We loved this sugary end to the meal. We didn't have alcoholic drinks on this occasion, only some hot tea, but they have a huge range of cocktails, sake and whiskeys. Perfect for a catch up with friends to get that Japanese eating experience in the heart of the sydney cbd. Staff are efficient and friendly.

There are three grades of tuna available on the menu tonight. Melle prefers the medium grade and we all enjoy the usual tuna grade sashimi and nigiri which is typically served in restaurants.
