I've been going to the Wagon Wheel since I was 16 . The great, highly original decor (mounted game…read moreheads, taxidermy, vintage comic popular art prints) hasn't changed but has been selectively added to with art by locals. It's family friendly and has been a tradition for breakfasts, birthdays for many locals since it opened in 1937. It's also the best place in town for a sitting -at- the- bar drink and conversation. The food has varied over the decades (I'm now in my 70s) but I'm still a fan. The burger and Mexican food has remained primo. The bartenders are locals who most often know their customers and treat pretty much everyone like neighbors. Saturday Karoke nights are my favorite as unexpectedly talented residents take to the mic and change your image of them forever. I think the Wagon Wheel has been written up in the New York Times twice. As one of the last originals it deserves all the attention it gets. To go to Patagonia and not check out the Wagon Wheel Saloon is just a cryin' shame.

Dark beams, creaky floors, mounted longhorns, and a massive old Brunswick backbar that probably has more stories than half the regulars. Walking in feels like stepping onto a movie set, except the beer is cold and the people are real. The menu is refreshingly short: burgers, a couple sandwiches, green-chile stew, and usually a burrito or enchilada plate. Nothing fancy, but everything is made in-house and tastes like it. We were bummed they were 86'd on the beef burrito the day we went but the cheeseburger more than made up for it. Hand-formed patty, properly griddled with crisp edges, good cheddar, fresh toppings, and a toasted bun that held together. Fries were hot and salty. Service is friendly in that small-town "you're not a stranger for long" way. Prices are fair, the patio dogs are welcome, and there's live music on weekends that somehow never drowns out conversation. Bottom line: if you're anywhere near Patagonia, make the detour. Grab a stool at the ancient bar, order whatever they still have left, and soak in one of the most authentic saloons southern Arizona has left.

"When passion meets inspiration, an obsession is born."…read more Join me; let's go get lost in a dance infused trance! The live music could be heard outside, that's the reason for checking out the inside! Those Latin vibes !! Warmth and happiness can be heard as the bartender welcomes you in the door! My recent visit to Nogales, not much here to do after work! The long hard day has set in as a drink is welcoming. Come play with me! Across the border from the hotel center my journey led me astray. Let's get obsessed with an adult libation. The days are long when you travel across the road. Moving from town to town. Stop in and do the work, then go. I found some happy and a special obsession here. Who's been to a bar in Mexico? This is not that typical bar in the states. The bartender is so inviting he's ready to make an obsession just for me. The music is playing real loud. As I sit it's a Crown on the Rocks with Lime for starters. The music plays in the back ground, you cannot help yourself from wanting to shake your groove thing to the rhythm. What's on tap? Mexico's finest beers! Whatever you need the bartender can pour you! All you need is to ask! My Spanish is "muy pequenos." But I'm fluent enough to order a drink or two. Not many individuals in the bar. It's quaint and a decent place to drink. Rules rules. This is not the United States; it's a bar in Mexico. The mask rule is not enforced "as much." It's truly an experience. One must come for themselves. Nogales is the other side of the border, so do yourself a favor and walk through the fence to this side of Mexico. The lines getting through the gates are long. Make sure you have your papers, so you can get back. No driving while drinking. Now that we have a way back home after drinking let's go for a few rounds of margaritas. The tequila in Mexico is "authentic." The bartender makes a mean margarita. At my request he added fresh jalapeños to the top. What's not to love? Strong and delicious margaritas made with the authentic alcohol of choice here in Mexico. Tequila and more tequila. The bar is clean. The service is excellent. Get out there and dance your fever away or just kick back and drink soaking up the local culture. Either way it's a win win! Time to bring this journey to a close. My obsession is quenched for now. Let's ponder the mysteries of the universe. Count those blessings as we wave bye bye to the bartender. Thank you again for all the cheers that we have done. Now the road leads me home. To the next obsession I'll raise this last toast too!

I know their in it for the money, but it's a hard sell. We requested a song and not a single girl was on the stage! My husband bought me a lap dance-the girl was nice, cute, and had a body type I can get into...but she seemed too shy, and I didn't like being taken in back into a dingy little closet for the dance. All in all I found this place to be a disappointment. My husband was offered a "private room" too get "more" for $20....we obviously declined, but felt they were selling more than a dance....very different experience, and not one I would return for. PS, another girl attempting to make a big tip took my boob out and sucked it...when no money came her way-she walked away!!!
