We needed two of our shower doors replaced with a different type, a medicine cabinet recessed, a new toilet in one bathroom, and some paint work. Ben and his team were extremely professional and worked with us until we were satisfied with every detail (I'm a bit of a perfectionist). One of our spaces had some particular challenges and Ben was very helpful in making suggestions for the best, most affordable options given our circumstances and we are very pleased with the end results. I would recommend Old Oak Construction to friends and family--and I would definitely use them again for construction and remodeling work. Good people, great work!

Our old house was in bad need of lower kitchen cabinets and a new countertop, sink and backsplash. They worked within my budget and were kind and patient with me because I had a thousand questions. Phillip and Santos came in and removed the old cabinets where we found issues with the subflooring. They fixed it all and the cabinets and granite are so beautiful. I had anxiety about choosing a backsplash but Phillip and Maria guided me to the perfect solution. They changed the look of our house and we could not be happier!! Everyone was so professional and kind. I highly recommend Phillip. I went in as a customer and left as a friend to Phillip and Maria! Thanks so much.

I hired Dave to do a very simple wall removal. Non bearing load. I was VERY clear when talking to…read moreall contractors I considered that they must be able to make the repairs to the ceiling and wall so there was no evidence of a wall was there. Well, this did not happen. You will see in the picture below you can clearly see where the wall was in the ceiling. Also, there was a small molding repair to be done where the wall was removed. They did not replace the molding but patched it with a piece of molding which also looks awful. They had to do a repair to the floor as well. I had a full box which should have been more than enough to make a repair of boards to fill in where a wall was. They ended up tearing out way more floor than was needed and damaged so much I need to buy three more boxes. It took them almost a full day to put the floor back in. I have install dozens of laminate floors and was at a complete loss why it took them so long to get the floor installed. Then to top it off, there is now a random piece of molding at the door threshold as they must have not cut it correctly. When I voiced how unhappy I was, be it angrily, the owner became very defensive and could not understand why I was upset. A smaller issue is they also left a wall plate off one of the switches in my hallway. Not a huge deal, but speaks to the quality of work. Very sloppy work and I compare it to results I would have achieved if I had done the job myself. I put a lot of money into improving my home and this has been the worst experience so far. One other side note. There are two David's on the crew, the owner David and a younger David that does much of the work. The owner makes the younger David communicate with the customer. At the end of the job the owner had the younger David tell me he was charging me another $100 for an error I made with the floor which was a very simple change out of 3 or 4 boards. I have no respect for an owner that sends his employee to do his bidding. There are to many good contractors available to risk having Davids do the work.

After water damaged our first floor ceiling we hired the team to repair the damage and remove the popcorn ceiling texture from the entire first floor. A seven day project ended up taking several months due to Jamie's lack of response and failure to show up to the job site. We found trash and cigarette ends in and around our home and most of a bottle of pricey liquor was consumed, all by the Rivera team. We eventually took them to small claims court, they were ordered to return half of the project costs to us and still have not received money returned. If you choose to utilize this business and team DO NOT pay them in full. DO NOT stray from the agreed upon contracted project costs. Keep all receipts, communications, and project progress photos, as you will need them when you eventually take them to court.

I reminded you that you said, "2 to 3 days (April 14) but it wasn't until April 24 that I got a concrete answer that you will not be doing the job. My contention isn't that you can't do the job, but that I wasn't given the courtesy to tell me that you weren't interested in providing the estimate nor would be able to do the job. If I hadn't called or inquired, I would never have gotten an answer at all. How could I give you a higher rating? You only came to look at the project. I can't grade you on quality, service or promptness because I have no reference point to go by. My review isn't harsh but simply stated as it happened. Danae seems to be the person who makes the decisions on which jobs to take. Maybe a conversation she be had with her if you don't want more reviews like mine.
